The Adharshila School was established on 15 August 2005 to provide high quality education to children from underprivileged rural families. It is located in village Agara in the Vijaypur subdivision of district Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, India. Over 95% of our students are from Adivasi, Dalit and OBC families, and all are from extremely poor farming backgrounds. During 2012-21, Adharshila middle and
high school also ran 15 satellite resource centres to provide primary education in far flung Adivasi villages. Many of these children joined Adharshila middle school and went on to study further. Today Adharshila is a single-campus school from Class 1 to 12, where nearly 550 children from several villages study. Many of our alumni have found meaningful jobs in the forest, revenue, postal, police and other government departments. Many have set up small local businesses, while others contribute to their local economy and society through their traditional farming livelihoods. Adharshila was established with support from the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, and was later supported by the EdelGive Foundation and Sitadevi Malhotra Charitable Trust. Currently the Dharampal Satyapal Charitable Trust and several generous and dedicated individual patrons support Adharshila.
