We are extremely proud to announce a significant milestone for our Geotechnical Engineering Division!

Dr Joyprakash Naskar, under the expert mentorship of Dr Arvind Kumar Jha (Associate Professor, Dept. of Civil & Environmental Engineering), has been awarded the prestigious ANRF National Post-Doctoral Fellowship (NPDF) 2026. This achievement highlights the excellence in research and academic commitment fostered here at IIT Patna.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), the Ministry of Science & Technology, and the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for their invaluable support in promoting advanced research.

A new chapter begins at IIT Patna!

We are delighted to welcome Prof. Amit Patra, Director of IIT (BHU) Varanasi, who has officially assumed the additional charge of Director at IIT Patna.
Today, Prof. Patra visited the campus and held a wonderful introductory meeting with our faculty and administrative staff. The interaction set a collaborative tone for the days ahead, focusing on shared goals, community building, and institutional growth.
An illustrious alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and a former Postdoctoral Fellow of the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation in Germany, Prof. Patra brings decades of academic and administrative brilliance. As a recipient of the Young Engineer Award and a renowned expert in VLSI and control systems, his vast experience will be a tremendous asset to our campus.

Join us in extending a warm welcome to Prof. Amit Patra as we look forward to scaling new heights under his esteemed guidance!

🌟 Embracing the Unknown: A Spectacular TEDxIITPatna 8.0! 🌟

We are thrilled to share the success of the 8th edition of TEDxIITPatna, held on September 13th! Centred around the theme "Terra Incognita" (The Unknown Land), the day was filled with profound insights and inspiring journeys.

Seven visionary speakers—Samir Kumar, Karishma Sharma, Kishan Panpalia, Anup Kumar Keshri, Anil Chopra, Maheep Singh, and Anil Chaudhary—shared their incredible stories of navigating uncharted territories in science, arts, aerospace, sports, and beyond. From viewing rejections as blank canvases to charting new paths in aerospace self-reliance, they inspired our audience to find courage in the unfamiliar.

A huge congratulations to the student organisers, Kavya Mahajan, Ashmit Malik, and the entire technical and Gymkhana team for their relentless effort in making this possible! 🙌

🎉 A Proud Moment for IIT Patna and the Nation! 🇮🇳

We are thrilled to congratulate Mr. Deepak Nagar (BTech, Physics Department, Roll No. 2401PH20) on his outstanding achievements at the recently held Junior Mental Calculation World Championship (Jr. MCWC) in Germany! 🥉

Representing India among approximately 100 top-class mental calculators from over 24 countries, Deepak secured a Bronze Medal for the country in the Senior+ Category. 🏆

In addition to his competitive success, Deepak’s exceptional past performances earned him the official role of an International Trainer at the event. He had the rare privilege of conducting two-day workshops for young participants alongside renowned world-record holders and experts such as Willem Bouman (King of Primes), George Lane, and Daniel Timms. 🧠✨

The Department of Physics and the entire IIT Patna fraternity extend their heartiest congratulations to him for making the Institute and the country proud on a global stage. The Institute and the Department of Physics are proud to have supported him, including extending financial assistance, to help make this international participation a reality.

✨ आईआईटी पटना में 'हिंदी पखवाड़ा 2026' का भव्य शुभारंभ! ✨

आगामी हिंदी दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में और आधिकारिक व दैनिक कार्यों में हिंदी को बढ़ावा देने के लिए, आज IIT पटना के सीनेट सभागार में एक पखवाड़े तक चलने वाले भाषाई उत्सव का शानदार आगाज हुआ! 🇮🇳

कार्यक्रम की शोभा बढ़ाते हुए मुख्य अतिथि, बिहार के माननीय शिक्षा मंत्री श्री मिथिलेश तिवारी जी ने श्रोताओं को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया। उन्होंने कहा, "हिंदी केवल एक शब्द नहीं; यह एक भावना है जो हमें अपनी मातृभूमि से जुड़ाव का एहसास कराती है।" अपने संबोधन में उन्होंने अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी जी, सुषमा स्वराज जी और स्वामी विवेकानंद जी के ऐतिहासिक वैश्विक संबोधनों का भी गर्व के साथ स्मरण किया।

🚀 Empowering the next generation of tech innovators!
The Incubation Centre IIT Patna (IC IIT Patna) proudly hosted the Young Innovators STEM Lab (YISL) workshop focusing on Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). Organized in partnership with IUSSTF, the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, and STEAM Varsity, the event brought together 160 enthusiastic students from across Bihar.
Participants enjoyed a hands-on "Startup Studio Style" experience, working with professional tools like Meta Quest headsets, GitHub, and VS Code.
Inaugurated by Prof. T. N. Singh, Director of IIT Patna, this initiative directly supports Indo-U.S. cooperation in science and technology and aims to make our youth future-ready. ✨
