An important announcement for students who wish to travel abroad for their education. As a few countries are yet to accept as an acceptable vaccine for travel without quarantine, students might have to incur additional costs. We would therefore like you to look up this initiative by Adar Poonawalla & NDTV https://special.ndtv.com/unlockeducation-94/

Uninterested vs Disinterested (important for GRE and SAT students)

Uninterested: not interested in or concerned about

I am uninterested in making money for the sake of it; My profession should add value to people's life.

Disinterested: Neutral; not having motives of personal profit or advantage

The judge should be unbiased and make a disinterested judgement, free of public sentiment or governmental pressures.

word usage: Simple vs Simplistic

Simple- easy to understand; basic; uncomplicated

Simple house design

Simplistic: making issues that are complicated seem more simple than they are.

To think that the economy is just a play of demand and supply is to have a simplistic understanding of it.

Usage note: 'different from' vs 'different than'

I wouldn't say that this kind of stuff is an important decision point in most tests but, if pressed to make a choice, I would say choose 'different from' to connect noun/noun phrases and 'different than' to connect clauses.

For example,
A is different from B. (Nouns)

Bombay is different from Bangalore in that it has better connectivity.

A who is x is different from B who is y ( noun phrase)

The progress that she made last year is different from her progress this year ( noun phrase)

A will take a route different than the one she took two years ago. (Clause in one part of the construction)

Usage note: Compare to vs Compare with (SAT, GMAT)

'Compare with' is to place side by side, noting the differences and similarities between, for example,

Let us compare his goals with his actual accomplishments

"Compare to" is to observe or point only to the likeness between, for example,

The psychologist compared this action to the one his father had committed

So as you can understand, it is not always easy to understand what the author intends.
But then again it also makes sense why 'compare with' is preferred.
