INTERNSHIP DIARIES- EPISODE 8

Meet Jyothsna, from the School of Commerce, who spent her summer as a Credit & Risk Assessment Intern at HDFC Bank, gaining firsthand exposure to the world of corporate banking and financial risk management.

During her internship, Jyothsna worked with the Credit & Risk Assessment Team, where she learned how risk is evaluated for MNCs and large corporate clients, how client profiles are assessed based on different business structures and how banks build and sustain long term corporate relationships.

Her key responsibility involved identifying and evaluating New-to-Bank (NTB) companies through market scoping, helping expand HDFC Bank's corporate client portfolio. Along the way, she collaborated with experienced Chartered Accountants and IIM graduates, gaining valuable insights into managerial decision making and strategic client assessment.

What made this experience truly memorable, she shares, was discovering that the corporate world thrives not just on numbers and analysis, but also on mentorship, collaboration, and a culture where people are always willing to share their knowledge.

INTERNSHIP DIARIES - Episode 7

Meet Indrani Chakraborty, from the School of Communication, Batch of 2025-27, XIM University, who spent her summer as a Brand Management Intern at Antaran - an initiative of Tata Trusts, where brand storytelling met the rich legacy of Indian craftsmanship.

Indrani's work centred around building a brand identity for the weavers of the Gopalpur clusters, helping their heirloom businesses find a voice in the modern world. She also studied the Maniabandhan clusters of Odisha, gaining an in-depth understanding of the development activities Tata Trusts conducts in scaling up the growth of weaver communities and master craftsmen, many of whom work on crafts that carry prestigious GI tags.

What made this experience truly unique was her discovery that a craft known for its maximalism could be represented in its most minimalist form and still create a powerful, lasting impact on its audience.

None of it, she shares, would have been possible without the unwavering guidance of her team, her industry mentor and her school mentors, who together made this project a success.
