Sikshasandhan

Sikshasandhan is implementing a Science Education Programme in five of the most underdeveloped blocks of Rayagada, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi districts of Odisha. The programme provides hands-on learning support to children studying in Government schools, most of whom belong to tribal communities.

Many of these children have limited exposure to scientific concepts, which are essential for understanding the world from a rational and informed perspective. Along with supporting children and building the capacities of teachers, Sikshasandhan also works closely with communities through science-based activities that help address superstition, blind beliefs, health awareness, and hygiene practices.

These are glimpses of our community science activities aimed at nurturing scientific temper and critical thinking among children and communities.

Summer learning activities are continuing enthusiastically in Ranipokhari Gram Panchayat of Kaptipada Block, Mayurbhanj, Odisha.

A large number of children are actively participating in reading and learning activities facilitated by volunteers of Sikshasandhan at different locations. It is encouraging to see community volunteers also joining hands with our team to support children’s learning during the summer vacation.

Together, we are creating joyful spaces for learning, reading, and community participation.
