A proud moment for us at KISS and the entire KIIT-KISS sporting fraternity at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026!

Our student-athletes have contributed two medals to India’s campaign today - one Silver and one Bronze.

Seema Kumari won the Bronze Medal in the Women’s 10,000m Race, clocking an impressive 32:50.05.

We also celebrate India’s Silver Medal in the 4x400m Mixed Relay, where five of the six members of the team are students of KIIT University: M. R. Poovamma, Vishal T. K., Vithya R., Jay Kumar and Kiran.

With 54 KIIT student-athletes representing India across disciplines, we are proud to see our sporting fraternity make its presence felt on one of the biggest stages in Asian sport.

We congratulate our athletes on their remarkable performances and continue to cheer for every member of the contingent competing in the days ahead.

We at KISS proudly celebrate the conferment of two international honours upon our Founder, Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, recognising his lifelong commitment to education, philanthropy and social transformation.

Our Founder was named ‘Leader of the Year’ at the 2026 CEEMAN Champions Awards during the 34th CEEMAN Annual Conference in Bucharest, Romania, becoming the first Indian to receive this honour. The recognition reflects CEEMAN’s emphasis on leadership that combines institutional excellence with relevance and social impact.

On the same day, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) conferred upon him the ‘Education Philanthropic Award’ at its Summit on Chess in Education in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, held alongside the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad and Congress, with participation from more than 120 member countries.

A significant step towards advancing Chess in Education was also marked by the signing of an MoU between FIDE, KIIT and KISS. The collaboration will strengthen and expand Chess in Education initiatives, building on the FIDE Global Conference on Chess in Society and Education co-hosted by KIIT in January 2026 and the FIDE Preparation of Teachers programme conducted at KISS in August.

We at KISS extend our warmest congratulations to our Founder, Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, on these distinguished international recognitions. His unwavering belief in the transformative power of education continues to inspire the KISS family and communities across the world.

At KISS, we celebrated NSS Day with enthusiasm and a strong spirit of service, bringing together NSS volunteers from all seven units around the motto, “Not Me But You.”

The celebration reflected the values that define an NSS volunteer: discipline, empathy, leadership, commitment and service to society. Through inspiring reflections, volunteer experiences and engaging activities, our students explored what it truly means to contribute beyond the classroom.

A special highlight was the Nukkad Natak on Swachh Bharat and “Say No to Plastic,” spreading important messages on cleanliness and environmental responsibility. The NSS Week celebrations also featured Essay and Rangoli Competitions and a Nasha Mukt Pledge, with winners recognised during the programme.

At KISS, we believe that service is a way of life — one that empowers young minds to care, lead and create meaningful change in society.

KISS came alive with the energy of 18 teams battling it out at the ASMITA Rugby Bhubaneswar City Tournament 2026 across Senior Women, U-18 Junior and U-15 Sub-Junior categories.

Over two action-packed days, 19–20 September, young girls and women displayed incredible skill, determination and fighting spirit on the field.

Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land, we empower tribal youth to become active stewards of forests, biodiversity and land ecosystems.

From afforestation drives and biodiversity mapping to agroforestry, sacred grove preservation and community-led rewilding, our students engage with both scientific learning and indigenous knowledge systems.

As a member of the Nature Positive Universities network, KISS-DU joins a global community working towards putting nature at the heart of higher education and campus communities.
