We at KIIT and KISS were proud to present Romeo & Juliet, Hamlet, and Macbeth in Santali, bringing Shakespeare’s timeless works to life through one of India’s indigenous languages. Directed, narrated, adapted, and performed entirely by 20 students, the production showcased the power of creativity, collaboration, and cultural expression.

After a widely appreciated performance at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, the students brought this unique theatrical experience to Bhubaneswar, where it received an equally enthusiastic response from audiences. The appreciation and admiration it garnered reflected the impact of presenting global literary masterpieces through a distinctly indigenous cultural lens.

As we celebrated 100 years of the Ol Chiki script, the production highlighted the richness of Santali heritage while amplifying indigenous voices on a global platform. It stands as a powerful example of how literature transcends boundaries and how young minds can reimagine global classics through their own language, traditions, and cultural identity.

We were honoured to welcome a distinguished 5-member delegation from Newcastle University, United Kingdom, led by Professor Nigel Harkness, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, to KISS as part of their visit to our institutions.

They engaged with students and faculty, immersed themselves in the rich cultural heritage of tribal communities, and gained valuable insights into the institution’s transformative influence on individuals and their livelihoods.

Guided by this powerful motto, the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) at KISS provides an advanced ecosystem for curiosity and innovation. Through interactive digital displays, 3D printing technology, and hands-on guidance, students learn to design, prototype, and build smart projects.

By fostering an early interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), KISS is transforming young indigenous learners into tech-savvy, self-reliant problem solvers.
