An example of how also to use Summer Vacation productively. Daana (pronounced Di-aa-na) Samant of class X has taken it upon herself to spread the goodness of Yoga in her hometown. Every morning is dedicated to getting the children together and practicing Yoga.

Community outreach is a part of school curriculum today, but right implementation is the challenge. Students like Daana can be at the forefront to spearhead this need of the hour.

At BMPS Takshila School, International Labour Day is always celebrated with gusto. On this day , the concepts of Dignity of Labour and importance of developing sensitivity towards the less privileged are reinforced. As the school is closed due to heat wave, children of all classes sent gift items for the school's support staff.

A wonderful programme was put up by the Teachers and Admin Staff for them. Song, Dance and One Act Play were presented. The hilarious play 'A Day of Takshila Family', in which teachers impersonated the support staff' had everyone in splits. The programme ended with the Felicitation of all support staff of school and the cleaning staff of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.

World Book Day...celebrated with gusto by the Department of English. One wishes the schools were not closed due to the heat wave, so students would realize 'A BOOK A DAY, KEEPS THE SCREEN AWAY'...

William Shakespeare, the Bard of Avon, stands as the eternal architect of English letters. His pen carved worlds where kings wrestled with fate, lovers defied time, and fools revealed wisdom. Each play is a mirror of human nature—love, ambition, betrayal, and hope—woven into language so luminous it reshaped the soul of literature. His words, centuries old, still breathe with fire, reminding us that art is not bound by age but by the timeless pulse of humanity.

On his birth anniversary today, as world celebrates World Book Day, let's vow to make Book Reading the tool to wean away today's children from unhealthy screen addiction. Let's read and let the children emulate what they see.

Happy World Book Day & Happy Reading 📚✒️✨

Cycling to school keeps children active, builds stamina, and fosters independence. It reduces traffic congestion and pollution, promoting a cleaner environment. Riding together strengthens friendships and community spirit. Most importantly, bicycles encourage healthy habits, balancing physical fitness with responsibility, while making the journey to school joyful, sustainable, and empowering.

At BMPS Takshila, many of our students cycle to school every day, including little ones of Pre-Primary classes. On World Bicycle Day, we urge everyone to encourage this habit.

Happy 🚲 World 🚲 Cycle 🚲 Day!!!

Parent orientation in schools serves as a vital bridge between home and institution, fostering trust and shared responsibility in a child’s learning journey. It introduces families to academic expectations, co‑curricular opportunities, and values that shape holistic development. With CBSE’s recent changes—emphasis on competency‑based education, integration of experiential learning, and focus on inclusivity—parents gain clarity on evolving pedagogies. Orientation sessions highlight assessment reforms, skill‑based curricula, and digital integration, ensuring parents remain partners in adapting to new standards. This collaborative approach strengthens the school community, aligning parental support with CBSE’s vision of nurturing confident, future‑ready learners. Orientation of parents of classes VI to XII proved to be an eye-opening exercise for all.

Mahabishub Sankranti: A Hymn to Renewal

When the sun strides into Mesha Rashi,
a golden doorway opens— ushering in the Odia New Year, where time itself bows to tradition.

Mahabishub Sankranti is a threshold of hope — a festival of equilibrium, where the bitterness of neem meets the sweetness of jaggery, teaching us that joy is born from embracing both shadow and light. It whispers: "Begin again, with humility. Walk forward with courage. Celebrate life with compassion."

So, we greet the new year with folded hands, with songs of resilience, with the eternal rhythm of tradition beating softly in every heart.

We also bow to the architect of our Constitution, Dr B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary.
