HRD Report: ‘SOA’ Odisha’s No 1 University

The list prepared by the HRD’s National Institutional Ranking Framework was released by HRD Minister Smruti Irani. Names of two universities of Odisha have figured in the list of country’s Top 100 universities. While the SOA has got 26th rank, the KIIT University has been placed 53rd.

Hirakud Dam (Odia: ହୀରାକୁଦ ବନ୍ଧ) is built across the Mahanadi River, about 15 km from Sambalpur in the state of Odisha in India. Behind the dam extends a lake, Hirakud Reservoir, 55 km long. It is one of the first major multipurpose river valley projects started after India's independence.
