Supreme Court Dismissed Odisha Government’s Appeal against Prakash Mishra:
Supreme Court today quashed the Odisha govt's special leave petition appeal challenging the June 19th High Court order quashing the vigilance case against CRPF DG & former Odisha DGP Prakash Mishra. Today case was heard by a bench of Justice J Chelemeshwar & Justice Abhaya Manohar Sapra. The Odisha govt fielded senior advocates Harish Salve & Avisekh Manu Singhvi to plead its case.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed a special court order to summon former PM Manmohan Singh and Aditya Birla group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla in connection with the allocation of a coal block to Hindalco in Odisha.

The special court dealing with the coal block allocation cases had summoned Singh and former coal secretary P C Parakh on April 8.

After hearing preliminary argument from senior advocate Kapil Sibal, Harish Salve, Ashwani Kumar and others, a bench headed by Justice Y Gopala Gowda issued notices to the CBI and the government and stayed all proceedings in the special court.

"We issue notice on all six petitions. The trial court order shall remain stayed," the bench said after hearing arguments by Sibal.
