At Srjan, the constant endeavour has been to nurture and disseminate Odissi in its authentic spirit, reaching dancers across institutions and traditions with a shared commitment—to serve and uphold the art of Odissi. In continuation of this vision, a three-day Odissi Dance Workshop commenced yesterday at Cocoon Studio, Kolkata, organised under the CSR initiative of SAIL and conducted by Guru Ratikant Mohapatra.
The workshop has witnessed an inspiring response, bringing together nearly 50 enthusiastic participants from several reputed dance institutions of the city guided by respected gurus. The atmosphere of learning, interaction, and artistic exchange has made the beginning of this workshop truly vibrant and meaningful. Srjan conveys its heartfelt gratitude to all the revered teachers and participants whose presence has contributed immensely to the success of this initiative.
We would also like to place on record our sincere gratitude to Smt. Rajashri Praharaj, a distinguished Odissi artiste, for her valuable time and gracious support extended to Guru Ratikant Mohapatra. A special note of thanks is extended to Shri Tamal Das, a student of Srjan, for his dedicated support and assistance in organising this initiative in Kolkata.

It was a truly memorable evening at Vrindaban Mahotsav, celebrating the vibrant spirit of Holi, organised by Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia Ji’s Vrindaban Gurukul at Rabindra Mandap. The evening was illuminated by an extraordinary Ghazal recital by the legendary Hariharan Ji, whose soulful rendition created an atmosphere of deep musical enchantment.
It was a great honour and joy to meet Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia ji and Hariharan ji after the programme. Spending a few moments with such towering maestros of Indian music is, in itself, a deeply enriching and cherished experience. 🎶
