The Electrical Superposition Theorem:

Defined as

"In a linear electrical network containing multiple sources, the ⚡current at any point in the network is equal to the algebraic sum of the currents produced by each source, considered separately, with all other sources replaced by their internal resistances."



Key Points:

1. Linear network: No nonlinear components.
2. Multiple sources: Voltage and/or current sources.
3. Replace other sources with internal resistances.

Steps to Apply:

1. Identify the sources and network.
2. Remove all but one source, replacing others with internal resistances.
3. Calculate the current at the desired point.
4. Repeat steps 2-3 for each source.
5. Sum the currents from each source.

Example:

Consider a network with two voltage sources (V1 and V2) and a resistor (R).

V1 = 10V
V2 = 20V
R = 2Ω Find the total Current of the Network❓

Step 1: Remove V2, replace with internal resistance (0Ω).

I1 = V1/R = 10/2 = 5A

Step 2: Remove V1, replace with internal resistance (0Ω).

I2 = V2/R = 20/2 = 10A

Superposition:

Itotal = I1 + I2 = 5 + 10 = 15A

Advantages:

1. Simplifies complex network analysis.
2. Reduces computational effort.

Limitations:

1. Only applicable to linear networks.
2. Does not account for nonlinear effects.
