📚 Parija Library Now Open for 12 Hours
A new chapter in student learning begins at Utkal University as the historic Parija Library Reading Room now remains open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, adding two extra hours to the earlier schedule.

On Day 1, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chandi Prasad Nanda, along with Parija Library Head Ashapurna Priyadarshini Nayak and library staff, interacted with students and encouraged them to make the best use of the extended hours.

With its rich collection of Odisha’s history, rare manuscripts and research resources, along with RFID facilities and free Wi-Fi, Parija Library continues to be a vibrant space for learning and discovery.

Starting today, 21 September 2026, the Parija Library Reading Room will remain open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on all working days. A one-day seminar on AI and Open & Distance Learning (ODL) was organised at the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Utkal University, on 17 September 2026, under the guidance of Prof. Chandi Prasad Nanda, Vice-Chancellor, Utkal University.

Prof. Shyam Sundar Pattnaik, Vice-Chancellor, Odisha State Open University (OSOU), graced the event as Chief Guest and shared insights on AI-enabled education, LMS, digital skilling, online evaluation, complex problem-solving and SDGs.

Dr. Sujit Kumar Acharya, Director, CDOE, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Prajna Paramita Panigrahi coordinated the seminar and proposed the vote of thanks. Faculty members of CDOE and teachers from different colleges participated.
