It was a space where mothers with disabilities and mothers of children with disabilities were honoured with dignity, warmth, and respect.
Through conversations, small gestures, and shared moments, people didn’t just attend—they connected.
It reminded us that inclusion does not always need large platforms.
It begins in simple spaces, when people choose to show up with understanding.
Thank you to everyone who made this what it was.
We carry this forward.

On 19th May 2026, SERPL, Indian Oil, Bhubaneswar hosted a webinar on “Disability is a Challenge, Not an Obstacle to Success.” Dr. Sruti Mohapatra joined as the Chief Speaker, sharing her inspiring journey of resilience, inclusion, and empowerment. She was felicitated by Mr. Duvvada Sudhakara Rao, Director, SERPL, Indian Oil, in the presence of over 100 staff members who participated in the motivational session physically and online.
In her address, Dr. Sruti Mohapatra shared how a sudden accident transformed her life from being an active and accomplished young woman into a wheelchair user with high support needs, changing society’s perception of her from achiever to burden. Facing isolation, rejection, and humiliation, she rebuilt her life with determination and the support of her family, eventually becoming one of India’s leading disability rights advocates. She highlighted her contribution to major disability laws, accessible elections, the Inclusive Education Policy, and the Accessible India Campaign. Dr. Mohapatra also emphasized the need for equal opportunity policies, accessible workplaces, and reasonable accommodation, stressing that these are not privileges but essential measures to ensure equal participation and productivity of persons with disabilities.
