A unique ritual involves hanging an earthen pot filled with water that drips slowly, symbolizing charity and care during the hot season. Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated every year on April 14 to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, one of India’s greatest leaders and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. The day recognizes his immense contribution toward social justice, equality, and the upliftment of marginalized communities. Across India, people pay tribute by organizing rallies, cultural programs, and discussions about his teachings and values. Utkal Divas (also called Odisha Day) is celebrated every year on 1st April in the state of Odisha.
Utkal Divas marks the historic day in 1936 when Odisha became a separate state from the Bihar and Orissa Province. It was the first Indian state formed on a linguistic basis, recognizing the Odia language and culture.
