AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING

COURSE DESCRIPTION : Aeronautical engineers are aerospace engineers that are responsible for researching, designing, developing, maintaining, testing and evaluating the performance of aircraft that stays within the earth's atmosphere, including both civil and military aircraft and weapons systems. Working on the components for these aircraft and systems is also the responsibility of an aeronautical engineer.
Aeronautical engineers are hired by organizations involved in developing technology, components and products for the aerospace industry. Organizations that hire aeronautical engineers include:
• The armed forces
• Colleges and universities
• Aviation regulation organizations
• Airline operators
• Engineering consulting companies
• Public and private research organizations
• Companies that design and manufacture aircraft and aircraft components
• Companies that manufacture missile systems
• Companies that manufacture navigational, measuring, electro-medical, and control instruments

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE: Aeronautical Graduates will have the global awareness to apply their knowledge across interdisciplinary areas in nationally and globally emerging domains of Aeronautical Engineering for higher studies, Research, Employment, Entrepreneurship lifelong learning and product development.

LABORATORY FACILITIES

Aerodynamics Lab:
The students get an understanding of nature of flow past various models through flow visualization techniques. The nature of pressure distribution over various aerofoil and body shapes is explained. The wake and boundary layer survey provide information on the momentum thickness and displacement thickness.

Structures Lab:
It provides the student with the practical knowledge of the various theorems, like -reciprocal theorem, buckling phenomenon of columns, WAGNER beam stresses information. The vibration of beam equipment provides information on types of modes and vibration patterns.

Propulsion Lab:
Experiments related to aircraft engines, force measurements through wall jets and measurement of speed of flame propagation is checked.

ELIGIBILITY
Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematic or its Equivalent from a recognized
Board/University with aggregate 45% marks. (All admission will be subjected to rules and regulation
laid down by AICTE)
