The Vigyan Pratibha (VP) Team, IISER Bhopal visited PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya CRPF Bangrasia, where the schoolโs mathematics teacher conducted the Learning Unit โIs Your Polygon the Same as Mine?โ. Through an engaging hands-on activity, students explored the essential conditions required to construct a polygon, developing their understanding of sides, vertices, and geometric properties through inquiry and discussion.

The five-day Vigyan Pratibha Teachers' Workshop 2026 at IISER Bhopal concluded successfully with the enthusiastic participation of 48 teachers. The workshop provided a platform for teachers to engage in hands-on Science and Mathematics Learning Units (LUs), exchange innovative teaching practices, and strengthen inquiry-based learning. Participants also visited the Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) and the Central Library, gaining insights into the advanced research facilities and academic resources at IISER Bhopal.Together, the workshop reaffirmed the commitment to fostering scientific curiosity and promoting activity-based learning in classrooms.

The Centre for Science and Society (CS2), IISER Bhopal, welcomed students participating in the SRIJAN Internship under Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM), along with members of the organizing team, for an academic visit on 31 July 2026.
During the visit, Prof. Apurba Lal Koner, Department of Chemistry, interacted with the students and provided an overview of IISER Bhopal, highlighting the Institute's academic programmes, research ecosystem, and scientific initiatives.
The participants visited the Undergraduate Laboratories of Chemistry and Biology, as well as the Moon Lab, where they observed experimental demonstrations and gained valuable exposure to laboratory-based scientific learning.
The visit aimed to foster scientific curiosity, strengthen students' understanding of research-oriented education, and motivate them to pursue higher studies and careers in science and technology.
Through such outreach programmes, IISER Bhopal continues to promote scientific awareness and inspire young learners by providing meaningful opportunities for academic engagement.

Day 2 | Vigyan Pratibha Teachers' Workshop
The second day of the Vigyan Pratibha Teachers' Workshop , IISER Bhopal focused on making mathematics and science learning more engaging through interactive and hands-on activities.
Mathematics and Science teachers participated separately in Maths and Science Learning Units, engaging in subject-specific sessions designed to promote concept-based learning and demonstrate practical, activity-based teaching approaches for enhancing students' understanding. Some common concepts like buoyancy, Viscosity, and Archimedes' Principle for science. In maths, Learning units covered concepts like logic, modular arithmetic and principles of number theory.

IISER Bhopal is hosting the Vigyan Pratibha Teachers' Workshop 2026, a five-day immersive programme being conducted from 27 July to 31 July 2026. The workshop brings together educators from Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), and Atomic Energy Central Schools (AECSs) across Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Inspiring Young Minds Through Scientific Exploration
The Centre for Science and Society (CS2), IISER Bhopal, hosted students and teachers from Sagar Public School, Dwarka Dham, Bhopal, on 24 July 2026 as part of its continuing outreach initiatives aimed at promoting scientific awareness and inquiry-based learning.
The programme commenced with an introductory session by Prof. J. Sankar, Head, CS2, who familiarized the participants with IISER Bhopal's academic programmes, research culture, and scientific ecosystem.
The visitors then visited the Chemistry, Physics, and Biology Undergraduate Laboratories, where they observed live demonstrations and participated in interactive experiments, providing them with practical exposure to scientific concepts and modern laboratory practices.

The Centre for Science and Society (CS2), IISER Bhopal, had the pleasure of welcoming students and accompanying teachers from Sunbeam School, Mughalsarai (Uttar Pradesh) for a two-day academic visit on 20โ21 July 2026.
The visit commenced with an engaging science lecture delivered by Prof. Vishal Rai from the Department of Chemistry.
As part of the programme, the students explored the Chemistry, Physics, and Biology Undergraduate Laboratories, where they observed experimental demonstrations and gained insights into laboratory-based learning. They also visited the Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) to familiarize themselves with advanced scientific instruments and research infrastructure available at the Institute.

The NPTEL-sponsored Hands-on Workshop on Internet of Things (IoT) commenced on 20 July 2026 at IISER Bhopal, under the guidance of Dr. Haroon Rashid Lone from the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science.
Organized with the support of NPTEL and facilitated by the Centre for Science and Society (CS2), the week-long workshop offers participants an immersive learning experience through interactive lectures, hands-on sessions, and practical exposure to IoT technologies. The programme aims to strengthen participants' technical skills while promoting innovation, scientific inquiry, and research-oriented learning.

Biology Teachers' Workshop under Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR)
The Centre for Science and Society (CS2), IISER Bhopal, successfully organized a Biology Teachers' Workshop under the Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) initiative on 17 July 2026 for biology teachers from various branches of Sagar Public School, Bhopal.
The programme began with an introduction to IISER Bhopal by Prof. J. Sankar, Head, CS2, followed by an interactive discussion and engaging hands-on sessions conducted by Dr. Varun Chaudhary, Prof. Sunando Datta, Prof. Vinita Gowda and Dr. Vimlesh Kumar from the Department of Biological Sciences.
The workshop provided participants with valuable practical insights and enriched their understanding of modern biological concepts through interactive learning.
We sincerely thank all the participating teachers, faculty members, and staff of IISER Bhopal for making the programme a success.
