Mr.Rishikesh

Mr. Rishikesh graduated as Electrical Engineer in 1981 but confesses that he hasn’t used much of electrical engineering off late. It has been more of people management, team motivation, and program management which is best learned on the job. He joined L&T group through campus placement and hasn’t looked back (or aside) since then.

Starting his career with Switchgear group of L&T, he has traveled through a variety of business, functions, and places. After the first twenty years in sales for Switchgear products and projects, he switched to Information Technology for ERP implementation. Later he headed Telcom & Networking Business before moving to the IT and Technology Services units of the group. In between Rishikesh had a three-year stint as country manager for the group in Iran and CIS countries during 2009-12. Currently, he is part of a corporate strategy for the L&T Group and handling program management for an ambitious growth initiative sharing his time between USA and India.

Mr. Rishikesh has a passion for writing. His poems often pick on contemporary issues. He is also an avid traveler and cinema-goer. His first book “First Day, Last Show” on movies has just been released and available on Amazon, Flipkart etc. Mr. Rishikesh stays at Mumbai and is supported in his ventures by wife Archana who teaches Hindi in school and daughter kanupriya working for travel and hospitality MNC.

First ever MACT/ MANITGlobal AlumniConvention is going to be held in Bhopal on Feb 8-9, 2019.
The Convention is being organized jointly by MANIT and the MANIT Alumni Cell. The Convention will include Forum for alumni Participation/ Contribution, Resolutions & Program Formulation for Alumni Cell and lots of entertainment. We will also be presenting Distinguished Alumni Awards and Student Merit Recognition Award.

By the time he joined MANIT he was already a national debating champion at various events adjudged by Late Shri APJ Abdul Kalam,Omar Abdullah and various prominent personalities.

During his MANIT days he founder many prominent societies such as PURGE and DebSoc.

He was an executive member of ISTE, Student President of ED Cell,PR Head Drishtant,English Media Secretary of Student Council,Vertical Manager of SAE BAJA transmission.

He also was the runner up of MANTHAN event conducted by Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
He has done internship in 7 prominent companies and had job offers from 5 companies .

Currently at IIM Lucknow after acing the CAT exams by 99+ percentile ,he is chosen by UP tourism for devising up the plan for Kumbh Mela .Hindustan Unilever( highest paying company on IIM lucknow campus)has offered him a PPO worth CTC of 36 lacs.
