The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at Sagar Group of Institutions - SISTec Ratibad organized an industrial visit to the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) operating under the Smart City Bhopal for the second-year students. The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to modern traffic management systems and to help them understand the implementation of smart traffic control technologies. The visit also aimed to demonstrate the real-world applications of the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), CCTV surveillance, sensors, and data analytics in intelligent transportation systems.

The students were given a comprehensive tour of the Control and Command Centre, where they observed the real-time operation of various components of the Intelligent Traffic Management System. They learned about the Traffic Monitoring System, E-Challan System, Emergency Response System, and Data Analytics System. The visit also demonstrated how AI-powered algorithms, integrated with sensors and surveillance cameras, continuously analyse traffic density and automatically optimise traffic signal timings by adjusting the duration of green lights, thereby improving traffic flow and reducing congestion.
