Dr. Rashmi Chawla from the University of Calabria, Italy, visited the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, during 18–19 May 2026. Her visit focused on research interactions and collaborative discussions in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Human-Robot Interaction, and IoT systems. Dr. Chawla is actively involved in developing AI systems for real-world applications, including emotion-aware robots performing in live orchestras and IoT-enabled intelligent environments. She also shared insights into her ongoing work on Emotion-Aware Human-Robot Collaboration and the MUSIC 4D Project. During the visit, she interacted with Prof. R. K. Pateriya (Head, CSE), Prof. Deepak Singh Tomar (HoC, CSE), Prof. Nilay Khare (Dean R&C), Dr. Bholanath Roy, Dr. Vikram Garg, Dr. Akash Sinha, Dr. Archana Balmik, members of the administration, and PhD scholars. The interaction created opportunities for knowledge exchange and is expected to promote future collaborative and product-oriented research initiatives under the guidance of Prof. K. K. Shukla, Director, MANIT.

The Institute Volleyball Teams had the privilege of attending a dinner hosted by the Director, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and appreciation. The event brought together players, coaches, and staff in an informal setting, providing an opportunity to celebrate the team’s dedication, discipline, and achievements.
During the interaction, the Director acknowledged the efforts of the players and emphasized the importance of sports in holistic development. The evening was marked by engaging conversations, shared experiences, and a strengthened sense of unity among team members.
Such initiatives not only recognize sporting excellence but also encourage teamwork, motivation, and a positive sporting culture within the institute.

The Sports Complex witnessed a significant development with the inauguration of a new pitch roller by the Director, Prof. K. K. Shukla. The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Prof. R. N. Yadav (Dean, Student Welfare), Dr. Gyaneshwar Singh Kushwah (Professor In-charge, Sports), Dr. Vijay Singh Rawat (SAS Officer), Mr. Akash Mourya and Ms. Romila Devi (Assistant SAS Officers), along with other sports personnel.
The addition of the pitch roller is expected to enhance the quality and maintenance of the cricket ground, ensuring better playing conditions for practice sessions as well as competitive matches. The initiative reflects the institute’s continued commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure and promoting a culture of fitness and excellence among students.

Under the vision of promoting women leaders in manufacturing and allied fields, MANIT Bhopal, under the leadership of Professor (Dr) Karunesh Kumar Shukla, Director MANIT Bhopal and in collaboration with .csr, has been selected among 40 institutes across the country to implement the “Rupa Rahul Bajaj Scholarship Scheme for Women in Engineering”.
Professor (Dr) Shailendra Jain, Dean (Academic), MANIT Bhopal felicitated the selected B.Tech (1st Year) students Parnika Jain, Manvi Gupta, Likitha Sambangi, Yerragudi Sivani, Katari Tejaswini Reddy and Vedagrani Mallarapu, and distributed gift hampers and certificates. These students are selected by Bajaj CSR based on merit among the applicants.
The Scholarship Cell staff was present on the occasion.
Institute appreciates this initiative towards empowering women engineers and congratulates the selected students.

Under the inspiration of Director Prof. K. K. Shukla, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal celebrated International Women’s Day on March 11. The event honored women’s achievements and highlighted the importance of their rights, cyber security, education, and growing contribution to the nation. The program was attended by chief guest Mrs. Srujani Mohanty, and other distinguished guests, including Dr. Megha Bhargava, Mrs. Shirin Yunus, Mr. Santosh Nigam, and Mr. Ashish Modgil, who shared their insights. The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. R. K. Pateriya and Prof. Deepak Singh Tomar, with coordination by Dr. Pragati Agrawal and Dr. Archana Balmik.
