From the iconic main gate to the quiet curves leading up the academic blocks 🏢, there is an unmistakable sense of pride and freedom in the air 🍃. Every corner of campus feels vibrant, serene, and deeply inspiring. 😇

It’s a season where natural beauty and national pride harmoniously meet 🫡. Walking down these tree-canopied roads beneath the fluttering Tiranga serves as a quiet reminder of our role in building the nation's future through science and discovery. 🙌♥️

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆–𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝟮.𝟬 | 𝗜𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗥 𝗕𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗹

IISER Bhopal successfully hosted Industry–Academia Conclave 2.0 on August 8, 2026, bringing together academia, industry, government, startups, MSMEs, and financial institutions to strengthen pathways from research and innovation to real-world impact and commercialisation.

Organised by the Office of the Dean, Research & Development, and the Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship (IICE), IISER Bhopal, the conclave featured insightful discussions on research ecosystems, technology licensing, drug development, biotechnology, genomics, startup funding, and technology translation.

The event brought together distinguished experts from organisations including IITM Pravartak, Zydus Group, IIT Bombay, Haystack Analytics, HDFC Bank, Lupin, BRIC-NII, MSME, and AIGGPA, among others.

🔹 Meaningful interactions between researchers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, mentors and investors

The conclave reinforced the importance of building strong, sustained partnerships between academia and industry to translate research into impactful technologies, enterprises, and solutions for society.

We are delighted to share that Mr. Nitish Kumar (BS-MS 2022, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences), an alumnus of IISER Bhopal, has been recommended for appointment to the post of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).

This remarkable achievement is a matter of great pride for the entire IISER Bhopal community. We extend our heartiest congratulations to Nitish and wish him all the very best for this new and distinguished journey of service to the nation.

The rain 🌧️ in Bhopal doesn't just fall; it breathes a vivid second life into every acre of the campus... where an umbrella becomes your primary fashion accessory. The sharp, earthy aroma of petrichor 😇 settles over the walkways while bright yellow blossoms scatter like gold leaf across the glistening, wet asphalt... turning the simple walk to class into an immersive natural spectacle. 🍃😍

Out on the damp avenues, everybody has their own rhythm: the determined cyclist 🚴 braving the drizzle in an IISERB hoodie, friends taking the scenic long route just to soak in the moist breeze, and streets blanketed in beautiful petals 🥀. It’s a little damp, yet refreshing, and easily the most beautiful time of the academic year. ♥️✨

𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 | 𝗜𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗥 𝗕𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗹

We congratulate our alumna, Dr. Arundhati P. Deshmukh (BS-MS 2016, Department of Chemistry), on her appointment as Assistant Professor at the Solid State and Structural Chemistry Unit (SSCU), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, India.

After completing her MS thesis under the supervision of Prof. Abhijit Patra (Department of Chemistry, IISER Bhopal), Dr. Deshmukh moved to the United States. Here she earned her Ph.D from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) under the supervision of Prof. Justin R Caram, followed by a postdoctoral tenure at Stanford University.

Dr. Deshmukh's appointment at IISc marks an important milestone in an outstanding academic journey. We are delighted to celebrate her achievement and wish her continued success in advancing research, innovation, and education.
