A Legacy of Five Generations One Uniform – Infinite Pride The journey of Lt Parul Dhadwal is a saga of a family dedicated to service to the Motherland. A proud descendant of a long lineage of brave soldiers, she represents the fifth-generation who now dons the Olive Green in continuation of a deeply rooted family legacy. The family’s glorious journey began with her great-great-grandfather, Subedar Harnam Singh of 74 Punjabis, who served from 01 Jan 1896 to 16 Jul 1924. Her great-grandfather, Maj L S Dhadwal, served with 3 JAT. Col Daljit Singh Dhadwal, 7 JAK RIF and Brig Jagat Jamwal, 3 KUMAON, represented the third generation. Her father, Maj Gen K.S. Dhadwal (4th Generation), and her brother, Capt Dhananjay Dhadwal (5th Generation), both from 20 SIKH, continue the proud tradition of soldiering. With Lt Parul joining their ranks, the family now has three serving officers in uniform simultaneously; a rare distinction and an inspiration to many. The family truly exemplifies the spirit of the Indian Army while carrying forward the glorious heritage for Five Generations. #NariShakti @defenceminindia @hqidsindia

Sanjay Singhal, a 1989-batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre, has officially taken charge as the new Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), the force guarding India’s borders with Nepal and Bhutan.

Today, we remember Lt Col E.K. Niranjan (Shaurya Chakra) — a true son of India who laid down his life during the Pathankot Air Base operation on 3rd January 2016.

His courage, sacrifice, and devotion to the nation will always inspire us.

🇮🇳✈️ Remembering Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee (OBE) ✨🇮🇳
(1 April 1954 – 8 November 1960)

Today and forever, we pay our heartfelt tribute to Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee, the first Indian Chief of the Air Staff of Independent India’s Air Force. 🙏💙

👉 Born on 5 March 1911 in Calcutta (now Kolkata).
👉 Passed away tragically on 8 November 1960 in Tokyo, Japan, at the age of 49.
👉 He was the first Indian ever to command a flight and a squadron in the Indian Air Force.
👉 One of the pioneers of Indian aviation, he was among the six cadets trained at RAF Cranwell, UK.
👉 Honored with the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1944 for his distinguished service during World War II.
👉 As Chief of the Air Staff (1954–1960), he modernized the IAF by inducting legendary aircraft like the Mystère, Hawker Hunter, Canberra, and Gnat.
👉 His life was tragically cut short in 1960, but his legacy of courage, leadership, and vision lives on forever in the Indian Air Force. ✈️
