Staircase design plays an important role in ensuring safety, comfort, functionality, and efficient use of space in residential construction.

This conceptual staircase layout has been prepared for a 10 ft (3048 mm) floor-to-floor height with the following practical dimensions:

🔹 Total Risers: 20
🔹 Riser Height: 152.4 mm
🔹 Tread Depth: 300 mm
🔹 Stair Width: 1000 mm
🔹 Intermediate Landing: 1200 × 1200 mm
🔹 Handrail Height: 900 mm

A comfortable staircase should maintain uniform risers and treads throughout. Proper landing dimensions, adequate headroom, and anti-skid finishing are equally important for safe daily use.

📐 Comfort Formula:
2R + T ≈ 600–650 mm

Proper planning during the design stage can significantly improve the safety and functionality of residential staircases.
