Adding a creative and experiential dimension to the workshop, the Activity Session on “Mindfulness through MIME” was led by Mr. Arun Saxena. This unique session effectively conveyed the essence of mindfulness and emotional expression through the powerful medium of mime, leaving a lasting impression on the participants.

The Technical Session II (Interactive) on “Stress, Burnout, and Resilience: Strategies for Teachers and Students” was conducted by Dr. Rajeev Agrawal. Through case studies, role plays, and active participant sharing, the session encouraged reflection and dialogue on coping strategies, resilience-building, and stress management in academic settings.

The Technical Session I featured an insightful lecture on “Understanding Mental Health in Education: Issues, Myths, and Realities” by Dr. Jyotsna Jain, Mental Health Professional and Psychologist. The session provided a comprehensive understanding of mental health challenges faced by teachers and students, while dispelling common myths and promoting awareness.

National Workshop on “Mind Matters: Fostering Mental Well-being for a Thriving Teaching–Learning Environment”

Christ College, Bhopal successfully organized a one-day National Workshop titled “Mind Matters: Fostering Mental Well-being for a Thriving Teaching–Learning Environment” on 13 December 2025. The workshop was convened by Dr. Diwakar Singh, Associate Professor, Christ College, Bhopal, and was generously sponsored by the Department of Education, St. Paul Province, Bhopal.
The programme commenced with the Inaugural Session, beginning with a warm welcome address by Reverend Professor Fr. Johnson CMI, Principal, Christ College, Bhopal, who highlighted the growing need to address mental health concerns within educational institutions. This was followed by an address on the relevance of the workshop by Rev. Fr. Babu, Education Councillor, St. Paul’s Province, Bhopal, who emphasized the responsibility of educators in nurturing emotionally healthy learning environments.

The Technical Session III was delivered by Ms. Kala Mohan on the theme “Building Supportive Classrooms: Institutional Strategies for Promoting Mental Well-being.” The session focused on practical and institutional-level approaches to creating inclusive, empathetic, and mentally supportive classroom environments.
The workshop concluded with the Valedictory and Certificate Distribution Ceremony, graced by the presence of distinguished Chief Guests:
Dr. Sunder Lal Pal, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, MANIT, Bhopal;
Dr. P. K. Pathak, former Indian Air Force Officer and Principal, Sanskaar International School; and
Dr. Fr. Thomas CMI, Principal, St. Paul’s Co-Ed School, Bhopal.
The valedictory addresses appreciated the initiative of Christ College in addressing mental well-being as a crucial aspect of education. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Ritambhara Singh, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons, guests, organizers, sponsors, and participants for making the workshop a meaningful and successful academic event.
The workshop served as an enriching platform for educators and professionals to engage, reflect, and commit towards fostering mentally healthy and supportive teaching–learning environments.
