From cotton and banana fibers to beautifully woven Dakmanda fabrics, Class IX Apparel Designing students of Rongkugre RMSA Higher Secondary School, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya, experienced the fascinating world of textile production during an industrial visit to the Spinning & Weaving Laboratory, College of Community Science, Tura.

Students gained hands-on exposure to spinning, weaving, dyeing processes, jute and banana fiber crafts, and textile machineryβ€”turning classroom learning into practical knowledge and inspiring future skills in the apparel and textile sector. ✨

The AISECT Karnataka State Conference 2026 brought together a powerful coalition of leaders from Government, Industry, CSR, Academia, Startups, and the Social Sector under the theme "AI-Driven Skilling for Employability Enhancement in Karnataka." More than a conference, it was a shared commitment to preparing Karnataka's youth for the opportunities of tomorrow.

We were privileged to be joined by Ms. Khushboo Goel Chowdhary, IAS, Secretary, Higher Education Department, Government of Karnataka, whose vision for innovation, higher education, and future workforce readiness set the tone for the day.
