Ran Mangli Foundation It is often felt that Conservation and Development are opposed to each-other.

At Ran Mangli Foundation, we are helping bridge this gap by Capacity Building the communities - reduce their forest dependence and also thus the probabilities of conflicts. Ran Mangli is a field station and training centre - aimed at providing opportunities for training, capacity building, environmental research and education to a cross section of participants. Situated on the fringes of the pristine Umred Karandla Wildlife Sanctuary, near Nagpur - Maharashtra, this station offers the participants access to the Southern tropical deciduous ecosystem, unique to this region. This site is actually a living laboratory that witnesses interaction between people from a village, their agriculture and the wildlife from the neighbouring forest. Participants undergoing training are exposed to the various conservation tools including the need to actively involve the forest neighbouring communities in conservation - by helping them generate a non-extractive livelihood from their forest. This method has helped the Maharashtra Forest Department in bridging the long existing gap with the community.

Why Do Some Trees Have Giant Roots?

Ek min wala gyan with Anirudh Chaoji

But have you ever wondered why some trees develop huge roots that spread above the ground? 🌳
These are called buttress roots natural support structures that help large trees stay stable in shallow, nutrient-poor soils.
They also help trees access water and nutrients from the upper layers of the forest floor. 🌿

Nature has its own engineering system. We just have to look closely. 👀

*CSR or ISR?* ISR forms the moral foundation driven by people, while CSR provides the large-scale resources and systemic impact driven by organizations. True change requires both working together. ISR focuses on personal choices, daily habits, and ethical behavior; drives grassroots awareness and cultural shifts; and relies on individual accountability and community mindfulness.
