Choosing Biology as subject in XI class.
Biology of class 11 is very important for students aspiring to become doctor. In fact approx 50 percent of Biology questions asked in different Medical exams of India are from class 11. It is very important for Medical exams like AIPMT, AIIMS and other state Medical entrance exam. Many students opt for Biology thinking it is an easy and interesting subject. But after seeing the vast syllabus of class 11, they tend to realize that it requires some hard work to get good marks in this subject.
Syllabus of Class 11 Biology is completely different from that of class 10. Students opting for Biology after passing class 10 Board exam from CBSE often find it really difficult to cope with it initially. But students should not fear from it. Biology is a very interesting subject provided you invest some time in it. Some students get poor marks in it only because they take it for granted or sometime due to overconfidence. How to study class 11 Biology?
Looking at the syllabus of class 11 Biology some students start fearing from this subject which ultimately leads to their downfall or poor academic performance. To excel in this subject you need to respect and love this subject. Without interest and dedications you cannot do well in it. Prepare notes of every chapter which will help you during final examination or Medical entrance exam.
NCERT book of class 11 Biology is a very well written book. You should study NCERT book regularly and should note down important points carefully. Human Physiology, Plant Physiology and Cell are the most important units from class 11 Biology, not only for the final examination but also for the Medical entrance examinations. Pay special attention on the diagrams because they are frequently asked in the exam.
*Should you take tuitions for Biology?*
I do not recommend tuitions for Biology of class 11. In fact I will suggest you to prepare Biology through self study. Consult your teacher to solve your problems. Attend Biology classes in school regularly. You will not need tuitions then at least for this subject. For preparing chapters like Biomolecules you must not hesitate in taking help from your teacher.
Why you should prepare notes of Biology?
You must prepare notes of class 11 Biology. In class 12 while preparing for the Board exam, you will not get enough time to study class 11 Biology. In that situation your performance in the Medical entrance exam will be affected. But through notes you can quickly prepare maximum number of chapters for various competitive exams. Biology notes will also help you during final examination of class 11.
Recommended Books for preparing class 11 Biology?
I will recommend you to go through NCERT book properly. Apart from it you can go through additional sidebooks or sample papers for better preparation.
