Hordes of developers turn to training shops in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, as also MOOCs, to become data scientists. Data is the new oil for coders, indeed.

The very first DSI session in Gurgaon (and second nationally) kicked off in Gurgaon on the 14th of July in Government Boys Senior Secondary School Gurgaon - in the heart of the city.

The Data Science for India team went and instructed around 50 kids from Grades 11 and 12, covering the foundations of our program. For some, who hadn't even heard of the word "data", it was an incredible experience. By the end of our first session, the kids gained a deep appreciation of data and how it engulfs every conceivable part of our lives. The platform was set for the next few sessions, where we would delve into more complex topics and the math behind data science.

Apply to Data Science for India, where you'll help high school students understand the importance of data on an international scale, this summer. Based out of UC Berkeley, our team consists of a group of students from leading institutions across the world and we're determined to give back to our country.
