Soliciting your support to take this labour of love forward...
In 1998, Dr R.K. Varshney retired from the Zoological Survey of India and decided to begin a small, quarterly journal called BIONOTES that would rapidly publish small notes to improve the availability of recent findings. After 20 years of publication, he has kindly asked us to take the journal forward. We will be publishing it from the March 2019 issue onwards.
We solicit short notes on recent findings, such as range extensions, behavioural observations, results of experiments, etc., covering all animals and plants.
Subscription to the journal for authors is mandatory at Rs.250/- per year for which they receive 4 issues.
Page charges are Rs. 250/- for the first page and Rs 150/- for every page thereafter.
The journal will be peer reviewed in 2019, so if your submission requires little editing, it will be published in the next issue, giving a publication time of 3 months. If it is shuttled between reviewer and author, it will take longer, so please write short, concise descriptions of your findings for rapid publication.
Thank you!
PS: the covers of the 2018 issues say "approved by UGC" but it seems that this journal was dropped from their list in mid-2018 because it does not have a regularly updated website. (Dr. Varshney does not own a computer). We hope to remedy this shortcoming as soon as the formalities of handing over are completed and regain the approval of the UGC.
