The initiative, envisioned by Dr. Renuka Goria, encouraged students to perceive their efforts not as exploitation but as meaningful contributions to the environment. 🌱

The Debate and Seminar Committee, under the supervision of the worthy Principal (Prof. Mohd Farooq Mirza) successfully conducted a Road Safety Awareness Programme to sensitise students about traffic rules and promote responsible driving. Slogan Writing and Painting Competition were held on March 5, 2026, while Elocution Competition was organised on March 7, 2026. The programme culminated with a prize distribution ceremony.

Dr. Ajaz Ahmed Wani Delivers Lecture on Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Chenab Region at Mission Yuva Mela in Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah: Dr. Ajaz Ahmed Wani, Head of the Department of Zoology at Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah, delivered an invited lecture on the “Scope of Entrepreneurship in the Chenab Region of Jammu and Kashmir” during the Mission Yuva Mela held at the Community Hall, Bhaderwah.

While addressing the gathering, Dr. Wani highlighted the vast potential for entrepreneurship in the Chenab Valley and emphasized the importance of encouraging youth to explore self-employment opportunities. He noted that the region is rich in natural resources, tourism potential, and local talent, which can be effectively utilized to build sustainable business ventures.

Dr. Wani also elaborated on various sectors that offer promising opportunities for young entrepreneurs in the region. He pointed out that activities such as poultry farming, dairy farming, fisheries, and apiculture (beekeeping) can become reliable sources of income for rural youth. He further stressed the importance of promoting food processing, handicrafts, and horticulture, stating that these sectors have significant market potential and can help generate employment at the local level.

He emphasized that with proper guidance, skill development, and support from government initiatives, the youth of the region can become job creators rather than job seekers. Dr. Wani encouraged young people to take advantage of various government schemes aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.

The Mission Yuva Mela witnessed active participation from students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and members of the local community, who appreciated the insightful lecture and guidance provided during the event.

Govt.Degree College Bhaderwah completes successfuly Mission Yuva hybrid training Program

Government Degree College Bhaderwah has successfully concluded the innovative Mission YUVA (Youth Up-skilling & Vocational Advancement) Hybrid Training Program marking a significant step toward enhancing employability and digital literacy among the youth of the Chenab Valley region initiative of Govt.of Jammu and Kashmir.
The program, conducted in a blended format under the supervision of Dr.Ajaz Ahmed (Associate professor) coordinator and Resurce person, combining online modules with hands-on practical sessions, aimed to equip candidates and young professionals with industry-relevant skills in emerging fields. Over the course of ten days participants engaged in intensive training covering areas such as communication and fundamentals of enterpreneurship .
The hybrid model ensured wide accessibility, allowing learners from remote areas to participate via digital platforms while benefiting from in-person mentorship and practical workshops held at the college campus.

The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Principal GDC Bhaderwah Prof.Mohd.Farooq Mirza who commended the resource person and participants for their dedication. "Mission YUVA aligns perfectly with our vision to create a future-ready generation. This hybrid program has broken geographical barriers and provided our youth with tools to thrive in a competitive digital economy," stated the Principal.Prof.Mohd Maqbool Pala was also present in the concluding ceremony.

**NSS Unit of GDC Bhaderwah Culminates 7-Day Winter Camp with Inspiring Valedictory Function**
**Bhaderwah, Jammu & Kashmir, February 24, 2026** – The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah successfully concluded its 7-day winter camp today with a grand valedictory function followed by a certificate distribution ceremony. The camp was organised under the able guidance of Principal, Prof Mohd Farooq Mirza and convenorship of NSS PO, Prof. Mohd Yaseen Sirwal. Held from February 17 to 23, 2026, the camp engaged dedicated NSS volunteers in transformative community service activities.
The winter camp, themed “Youth for Social Transformation,” emphasized the role of youth in addressing local challenges like environmental conservation, health awareness, and rural development in the Bhaderwah region.
The valedictory event, graced by Chief Guest Prof. Mohd Farooq Mirza, Principal of college, NSS Programme Officer Mohd. Yaseen Sirwal, and college dignitaries, commenced with a welcome address by NSS PO. Volunteers shared poignant experiences through speeches. Principal, Prof Mohd Farooq Mirza commended the participants for their selfless service, stating, "Such camps embody the spirit of NSS in building a resilient and self-reliant India." Certificates of appreciation and participation were distributed to all volunteers, recognizing their contributions.
NSS Programme Officer Mohd. Yaseen Sirwal remarked, "This winter camp has ignited a spark of social responsibility in our youth, aligning with national goals for sustainable development. GDC Bhaderwah remains committed to expanding such initiatives."The faculty who graced the occasion include Prof. Mohd. Maqbool Pala, Dr Aijaz Ahmed Wani, Prof. Bashir Ahmed, Dr Anayat-ul-lah wani, Prof. Mohd Arif Sheikh, Dr Swarna Singh and Dr Bilal Ahmed Sheikh.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by NSS Programme Officer of college who thanked Principal for his unwavering and logistic support during the camp. He also thanked all staff members and students who are directly or indirectly involved in making this camp a resounding success.
