An educational visit to Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Belagavi was organised for the students of Class VIII with the objective of developing mental concentration, meditation skills and value education.

The session helped students understand the importance of concentration in learning. They learnt that focused attention improves understanding, strengthens memory and makes learning more enjoyable. Students were also introduced to simple breathing exercises and meditation, which can help calm the mind, reduce stress and overcome digital distractions.

The concept of consciousness as the inner observer encouraged students to become more self-aware and respond thoughtfully instead of reacting impulsively. They also understood that when the mind is focused on the present task, it experiences greater peace, satisfaction and joy.

A key concept discussed was Satchidananda — Sat (Truth/Existence), Chit (Consciousness/Awareness) and Ananda (Bliss/Joy). Students learnt that true happiness and self-worth come from within and do not depend on external validation.

The visit was an enriching experience that encouraged students to practise mindfulness, self-discipline, concentration and positive values in their daily lives. Simple practices such as mindful breathing before classes, distraction-free study periods and regular sessions on emotional balance can help students develop these qualities further.

At Podar International School, Belagavi,, we believe that every child is special. As a part of the
thematic unit, a culminating event “Celebrating Me” was conducted on 17-8-26 in the school
premises. Our Grade 1 students participated in this program where they spoke about their
strengths, talents, dreams, their favourite things and what makes them unique. As a part of this
,many activities like my family snapshorts, medal making etc. were conducted . The classrooms
were decorated with various worksheets which students completed during the completion of the
thematic unit. We are proud to nurture confident, happy, and self-aware young minds. Watch

As part of the theme “The Conscious Closet,” the students of Grade 7 embarked on an insightful field trip to explore and learn about different types of clothes. The visit provided students with an opportunity to see a wide variety of fabrics, garments and clothing styles firsthand.

The students enthusiastically observed different types of clothes and learned about their uses, textures, materials and suitability for different occasions and seasons. The experience helped them understand that making conscious choices about clothing involves being aware of the materials we wear, their purpose and their impact on the environment.

The field trip was both educational and enjoyable, allowing students to connect their classroom learning with real-world experiences. They thoroughly enjoyed the visit and gained a better understanding of the importance of making thoughtful and responsible choices when it comes to clothing.

Library Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement by the students. The programme aimed to highlight the importance of books, reading and the library in enriching knowledge and developing good reading habits.

The students actively participated in the celebration by sharing their thoughts on the importance of Library Day. A captivating story was narrated, which encouraged students to understand the value of reading and the lessons that books offer. A book review was also presented, giving students an opportunity to share their understanding and appreciation of a book.

The celebration concluded with a pledge, wherein the students promised to develop a regular reading habit, make good use of the library and treat books with care and respect.

The programme was an enriching experience that reinforced the message that “A library is a treasure house of knowledge, and every book opens the door to a new world.”

On the occasion of Independence Day, the school campus was filled with patriotism, pride, and enthusiasm as students came together to celebrate the spirit of our nation.

The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal, followed by the National Anthem. The Principal then addressed the gathering, inspiring students to uphold the values of freedom, unity, responsibility, and patriotism.

The students presented a vibrant skit and patriotic dance, beautifully portraying the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the spirit of India. The celebration was further enriched by inspiring speeches in Kannada, Hindi, and English, showcasing the linguistic diversity and unity of our country.

A special felicitation ceremony was held to honour the Grade 10 Top Achievers of the Academic Year 2025–26 for their outstanding academic performance and achievements. The dedicated teaching staff and supporting staff were also felicitated in recognition of their valuable contribution, commitment, and continuous efforts towards the growth and success of the school and its students.

The celebration was a memorable blend of patriotism, talent, achievement, and gratitude, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride in being an Indian.
