Guest Lecture on Social Obstetrics

The Department of Community Medicine, A.M. Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College, Belagavi, organized an insightful guest lecture on "Social Obstetrics." The session was delivered by Dr. Ashwini L. Chingale, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, BIMS, who highlighted the significance of social obstetrics in today's healthcare landscape and created awareness about various National Health Programmes related to maternal and child health.

A.M. Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College, Belagavi, celebrated National Doctors’ Day by honoring the dedication, compassion, and selfless service of doctors. The programme began with a welcome by Dr. Saeed Ahmed, Head of the Department of Surgery, followed by floral tributes to Dr. Samuel Hahnemann and Founder Dr. A.M. Shaikh.

Chief Guest Dr. Danish Memon, Consultant Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist at KLE Hospital and Associate Professor at JN Medical College, delivered an inspiring talk on the importance of education, healthy competition, and commitment to excellence. He also shared remarkable congenital heart case studies, highlighting the impact of timely medical intervention.

The event also featured the felicitation of faculty members. Principal Dr. Kiran Patil concluded the programme by appreciating the unwavering dedication of doctors and reaffirming their vital role in serving society.

Faculty members and students actively participated in the Integrated International Conclave 2026 organized by Sri Sairam Medical College and Research Centre, Chennai, showcasing their research excellence on an international platform.

🏆 Dr. Jyoti Vijaykumar, Professor, Department of Practice of Medicine, secured Third Prize for her research paper on the cholesterol-lowering activity of Rosmarinus officinalis potencies in hyperlipidemic blood samples.

📚 Dr. Premalata B. Rotti, Associate Professor, Department of Homoeopathic Repertory and Case Taking, presented a case report on the role of individualized homoeopathic remedy selection in managing Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).

🔬 Ms. Runali N. Dukare, III BHMS student, presented her RGUHS STSH research study evaluating the anticancer potential of Galium aparine and Hoang Nan against mouth cancer cell lines.

The research presentations received appreciation from judges and participants alike, reflecting the institution’s dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and advancement in homoeopathic research.

A. M. Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College proudly participated in the grand celebration of International Yoga Day 2026 at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, Belagavi. Students enthusiastically took part in the yoga camp organized under the guidance of the District AYUSH Commission.

The event was graced by Hon'ble Union Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi, District Commissioner Shri Mohammad Roshan, IAS, and District AYUSH Medical Officer Shri Shrikant Sindolli. Their inspiring messages highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for better health and well-being.

The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Swapna Pujari, Assistant Professor and Yoga Coordinator, along with Yoga Trainers Mr. Deepak T. and Mrs. Sangeeta K. The institution's participation was strengthened by the support and guidance of Dr. Sabina A.A. and Principal Dr. Kiran Patil.
