ಮಗ ಚೆಸ್ ಆಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಆರಂಭದ ದಿನಗಳವು. ಚೆಸ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಗೆದ್ದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಫೋಟೋ ಕೂಡ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತಾ ಅಂತ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ. ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡು ಖಂಡಿತ ಬರುತ್ತೆ ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. ಬರ ಬರುತ್ತಾ ದೊಡ್ಡವನಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಅದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯೋಚನೆಯೇ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಫೋಟೋಗೆ ಫೋಸ್ ಕೊಡೋದು ಅಂದ್ರೆ ನಾಚುತ್ತಿದ್ದ. ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರಾದಿಂದಲೇ ದೂರ ಇರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ. ಇಂದು ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಪುರವಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಅಗ್ರ ಲೇಖನ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಿದೆ.

ದಶಕದ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಮಾತು. ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ವರದಿಗಾರನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಾನು ಬರೆದ ಲೇಖನ, ಸುದ್ದಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಇಂದು ಅದೇ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನ ಲೇಖನ ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಇಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ವೈವಾಹಿಕ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವದ ಖುಷಿಯ ಜೊತೆ ಮಗನ ಲೇಖನ ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದು ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಇಮ್ಮಡಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ.

ಲೇಖನ ಬರೆಯಲು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿ ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಿದ ಮೋಹನ್ ಹೆಗಡೆ ಸರ್ ಮತ್ತವರ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳು.

Karnataka State Fide Rated Chess Championship 2024

Atharva Venkatesh and Leah R Joseph win in chess competition
Belgaum: Bengaluru Urban's Atharva Venkatesh and Leah R Joseph won the state level chess competition organized by Giristuti Checkmate School of Chess Foundation, Belgaum.
Atharva Venkatesh of Bangalore Urban took first in the Karnataka State Under 11 Open Group Fide Rated Chess Championship-2024 competition held at Gujarat Bhavan, Shastrinagar-Belgaum, Ishwar Veerappan Aiyappan from Mysore and Ashok won second and third place respectively.
Also, Leah R Joseph of Bangalore Urban won first and Indusheetala from Bangalore and Anvita Sathi from Uttar Kannada won second and third place respectively in the Karnataka State Girls under 11 years.

Atharv Venkatesh, Eshwar Veerappan Aiyappan From open Under-11
Leah Joseph and Indusheetala From Girls are selected for under-11 Nationals to be held in Telangana.

Total 250 Players Participated and 71 were Fide rated Players in Both Open and Girls
