Started in the year 1998, the institution began as a Nursery at Peeranwadi, Belgaum and has now steadily grown upto School level.

LOURDES EDUCATION SOCIETY is the “Formation of persons with moral uprightness, social responsibility and pursuit of excellence”. It also derives inspiration from the sages and prophets of our own land and is deeply rooted in its values and culture.

“There is something about childhood friends that you just can’t replace!”
Lourdes School celebrated Friendship day on Saturday 6th August 2022, with varied Friendship Day activities across the grades. First, some students came forward and shared different thoughts on friendship. Then came the students of 7th Std class with dance on friendship. The students were successful in delivering the moral through their speech and dance that friends should act together and then they will be happy. Children made Friendship Day posters and exchanged friendship bands between them.
The noble idea of honoring friends and friendship has really caught on with the youth in India and one can see the festival being enthusiastically celebrated by the youth especially, students.

On 12th July, Lourdes School celebrated the Van Mahotsav – “Tree Planting Festival”. Students of Eco Club took responsibility of today’s celebration and took pride in planting saplings on the school grounds, This celebration was an ideal opportunity to instill the value of social responsibility amongst students towards safeguarding trees and forest cover. Students of 5th to 7th std prepared posters and spoke about importance of tree planting and nurturing it.
The program ended with a pledge to cut our greed and not to cut Trees. It was indeed an innovative, informative and interesting celebration.

Keeping in view the clarion call of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to phase out single use plastics by 2022, "Awareness program to avoid the use of single use plastics" Lourdes School (CBSE), Peeranwadi, Belagavi organized administration of pledge against single-use plastic for its staff, students and administrators.
Earlier in the day (2nd July 2022), Students and the staff of the School including the management took the pledge and the same was administered by Tr. Geetanjali Patil. Chairman of Lourdes Education Society Mr. Anton Dsouza, stressed the importance of the ban on single-use plastic. He stressed the havoc created by plastic in the life of all species. He requested the staff, and students of Lourdes School to come together in the fight against the use of plastic. He insisted that our school should take the lead in creating awareness among the general public against the use of plastic.

75 crore Surya Namaskar, is an initiative advised by CBSE and Department of Public Instruction, karnataka on 75th Anniversary of Independence. LOURDES SCHOOL (CBSE), Peeranwadi, Belagavi, is a proud participant of this initiative and encouraged every students and teachers to pledge themselves to adopt yoga for better mental and physical health.

15th January 2022, the students of LOURDES SCHOOL (CBSE), under the guidance of Principal, Mrs. Clara Dsouza, participated in programme “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” – India@75, organised by Ministry of Ayush. Lourdes School (CBSE) became a part of large scale virtual Surya Namaskar programme where more than 75 lakh people (participants) practiced Surya Namaskar observing covid appropriate behavior.
Lourdes School and All the participating students received a special e-certificate with signatures of Yogrishi Pujya Swami Ramdev ji, Pujya Swami Govind Dev Giriji Maharaj, Pujya Kamlesh ji Patel Daji and Pujya H.R. Nagendra Guruji and was distributed to the students on 10th Feb 2022 soon after the morning assembly.

Light diyas or candles today at 9 pm for 9 minutes to fight the darkness spread by the pandemic.

This is a more than difficult time for our public services, including our dedicated Doctors, Nurses, police officers and many more. To do their jobs at a time of unprecedented challenge, they need the support of the public more than ever. The best way to help our emergency services is to stay at home. Do not step out if you absolutely have to go out, keep your distance from others. And keep washing your hands throughout the day.

Children of Lourdes Pre-Primary School and Lourdes School observed National De-worming Day on the 10th of February 2020. Deworming day is a day dedicated to deworm all the school going children of the country to give them a healthy digestive system. Worms have negative effects on the mental and physical development of children. Children with worms are often underweight and have stunted growth. Heavy infections often make children too sick or too tired to concentrate at or even attend school.

Lourdes school conducted ‘Cooking without Fire’ competition on 25th January 2020. The competition was conducted with a view to create awareness about the nutritional value of food cooked without flame , the necessity and advantages of healthy eating and to encourage students to stay away from the junk food.

Students of class 3 & 4 prepared healthy dishes and served the dishes in an artistic and aesthetic way which was most appealing and the display were a visual treat tickling to the taste buds.

The judges for the day were Rev Fr. Harry Roberts, Administrator of Divine Mercy PU college and Mrs. Vandana D'Souza who judged on the basis of presentation, effort and taste of food.

The birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda will be observed at Lourdes School through colouring, Essay, Elocution, and slogan writing from 13th Jan to 18th Jan 2020.
Day 01: Mr Anton Dsouza chairman of Lourdes Education Society addressed the students and threw light on the life of Swami Vivekananda. And spoke about the weeklong celebration of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Lourdes School.
Day 02: Colouring of Swami Vivekananda image for Std 1st Students.
Day 03: Project on life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda for Std 2nd and 3rd students
Day 04: Elocution on life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda for Std 4th students
Day 05: Slogan writing on Quotes of Swami Vivekananda that will guide in life for all students.
The students, teachers and various stakeholders will make use of this celebration along with other sources to understand the life, philosophy and teachings of this great reformer. The students will be assessed as a part of Co-Scholastic Activities.
