The SFIT Chess Team secured 2nd place at the Mumbai University Inter-Collegiate Chess Tournament 2026–27, competing against teams from across the university.

What happens when research meets a real-world problem? Something worth protecting. 🚀
From research on EuroSat satellite data classification to a patented AI-powered solution for satellite imagery, this work reflects what focused research and collaboration can achieve.
The innovation was developed by Ms. Savita Niranjan Kulkarni, Assistant Professor, EXTC Department, SFIT; Dr. Vaqar Ansari, Assistant Professor, EXTC Department, SFIT; and Dr. Hina Pande, Head & Scientist, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Department, IIRS–ISRO, Government of India, Dehradun.
The work explores applications in agriculture, urban planning, and environmental analysis, with the research journey culminating in Patent Design No. 496420-001.
