After 2 years of selfless service, a man realized that he has not been promoted, no transfer, no salary increase no commendation and that the Company is not doing any thing about it. So he decided to walk up to his HR Manager one morning and after exchanging greetings, he told his HR Manager his observation.
The boss looked at him, laughed and asked him to sit down saying, My friend, you have not worked here for even one day. The man was surprised to hear this, but the manager went on to explain.
Manager:- How many days are there in a year?
Man:- 365 days and some times 366
Manager:- how many hours make up a day?
Man:- 24 hours
Manager:- How long do you work in a day?
Man:- 8am to 4pm. i.e. 8 hours a day.
Manager:- So, what fraction of the day do you work in hours?
Man:- (He did some arithmetic and said 8/24 hours i.e. 1/3(one third)
Manager:- That is nice of you! What is one-third of 366 days?
Man:- 122 (1/3x366 = 122 in days)
Manager:- Do you come to work on weekends?
Man:- No sir
Manager:- How many days are there in a year that are weekends?
Man:- 52 Saturdays and 52 Sundays equals to 104 days
Manager:- Thanks for that. If you remove 104 days from 122 days, how many days do you now have?
Man:- 18 days.
Manager:- OK! I do give you 2 weeks sick leave every year. Now remove tha t14 days from the 18 days left. How many days do you have remaining?
Man:- 4 days
Manager:- Do you work on New Year day?
Man:- No sir!
Manager:- Do you come to work on workers day?
Man:- No sir!
Manager:- So how many days are left?
Man:- 2 days sir!
Manager:- Do you come to work on the (National holidays)?
Man:- No sir!
Manager:- So how many days are left?
Man:- 1 day sir!
Manager:- Do you work on Christmas day?
Man:- No sir!
Manager:- So how many days are left?
Man:- None sir!
Manager:- So, what are you claiming?
Man:- I have understood, Sir. I did not realise that I was stealing Company money all these days.

EVELOP INNER POWERS TO ACHIEVE THE GOAL
Man is nature's perfect creation. One should realise this fact that he or she possesses unlimited power of development. Our young man and woman must have endless enthusiasm to make use of this blessing of nature.
Many are heard saying that everyone cannot achieve greatness and become great. It is not correct to say so. The fact is that everyone has the potentiality and capacity to become great. But it is necessary that the person should fix a great aim and try to achieve it in an extraordinary way. Wisemen say that one should proceed towards the aim in an uncommon way although the target may be quite common. The great aim makes the man great but it is also true that if the method or procedure is excellent the person will also achieve excellence.
In short, the greatness of a man does not depend only on the great-ness of the aim but one who becomes one with the aim also becomes great.
Now the question is how to decide one's aim. Before doing so one must do introspection and assess his or her capacities, capabilities and weaknesses and then in view of them decide the aim. Having known one-self you must accept the facts howso- ever unpleasant they may be. In any case one must be sincere and true to oneself and should not try to deceive oneself.
It is necessary to point out here that while trying to assess one's capacity and capability one should keep aloof his family achievements and talents of the parents. One should in any case confine to his or her own capacities. When one tries to include the achievements of the family with those of his own then there is every chance of overestimating and deceiv-ing oneself.
To avoid such situation one must strictly confine to his or herself. Every person has six main powers as-physical, mental, moral, spiritual, aesthetic and susceptibility. To assess these powers one has to be very objective and detached as if he or she was examining the capacities of someone else.
While deciding the aim and assessing the inherent powers one should observe the following two rules-
1. We should decide our ambition and interests in view of our abilities.
2. Keeping out ambition and interests in their own place one should try to add out abilities and shake off weaknesses.
One should quite often assess and evaluate the abilities to see at what level they stand.
It may be added here that to develop one's capacities one should select and consult relevant and necessary to keep/keeping in view the post for which the preparations are being made-
Notwithstanding the fact that no guide or guru is available, a person may realise his weakness and short-coming. Then he or she may try to remove his/her weaknesses or may improve upon them. If he or she does so, he will to create new powers is born by itself. The will how to create those powers comes automatically from within and the person proceeds on the path of progress and evolu-tion. As the person proceeds on this path a new light is dawned which shows the person the path ahead. The first person who proceeded on this path must have been guided by no one else but he himself must have the necessary knowledge from within. Therefore, it follows that the person who is determined to create and develop his latent powers must be believed that he is his or her guru and guide. No outside agency will come to help him or her. Everyone gets necessary
knowledge and light from within what is needed is firm deter-mination and will to do the needful.
This is hard fact of life that the human being is a perfect creation of nature. To achieve perfection he neither needed any outside help nor he or she would need in future as well. Only the weakness of the human-being forces him or her to seek the shelter of other persons. When this outside help is not available then the person very easily compromises with his or her weak-nesses.
To prepare one's own path it is but necessary that the person has unflinching faith in his or her aim. The person must know himself and believe that he possess powers which have no limits of development, then he needs only energy to develop and expand them. In short strong will, full hearted devotion, endless enthu-siasm, full self confidence may turn the most ordinary person in an extraordinary one. For this one will have to proceed under very hard discipline imposed by himself.
It is an accepted fact that with-out discipline nothing big can be achieved. When our ambitious want unusual achievement then unusually hard discipline and very hard work are indispensable. It is a law of nature that when a person makes himself worthy of a post the post itself falls on his feet. Therefore, all the efforts should be made to make oneself worth of the post. Therefore, one must fully concentrate on the aim designed and think of it every moment of life. It is done so no power on earth can stop us from achieving our goal. To nourish doubts in the mind would be very fatal.
It is necessary to maintain unlimited enthusiasm, whatsoever our unsurmountable limitation and adverse circumstance and financial crises may be.
Our young learner will remember that if you are unsuccessful once you must have to awaken a will to win over your limitations a hundred times. Such a person can never be defeated by any person as to be successful one needs these three qualities-(1) Unlimited faith in one's life's goal, (2) Full confidence and (3) endless enthusiasm in one's heart. These three are bound to create unlimited will power to achieve one's goal. No hindrance can stand in his way, no difficult situation or unfavourable circumstances can stand in his way. If when such enthusiasm is born in every young man and woman then and then alone a new society will be formed and new fame and name will be brought to Bharat.
Wishing all my friends and their dear ones a very happy Diwali...
