📚 Vice-Chancellor Inspires Newly Appointed Faculty Members at Central University of Punjab
"A great teacher does not simply educate; they inspire, empower, and transform lives."
With these inspiring words, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari interacted with the 35 newly appointed faculty members who have recently joined various departments of the Central University of Punjab, welcoming them to a journey of academic excellence, innovation, and nation-building.
Welcoming the faculty members to the CUP family, Prof. Tiwari emphasized that today's classrooms are home to learners with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and aspirations. He encouraged the faculty to adopt inclusive teaching practices and create learning environments where every student feels valued and empowered.
The Vice-Chancellor urged the faculty members to remain lifelong learners themselves, highlighting that teaching and learning are inseparable processes. He stressed the importance of continuous self-improvement, innovation in pedagogy, meaningful research, and a commitment to excellence in all academic pursuits.
Prof. Tiwari also reminded the faculty that universities have a larger responsibility—to nurture responsible citizens, preserve cultural values, and contribute to the nation's development through knowledge creation and dissemination.
Following the Vice-Chancellor's welcome address, Prof. R. K. Wusirika, Dean In-charge Academics, introduced the newly joined faculty members to the University's academic system and highlighted the growing competition among newly established universities.
Prof. Raj Kumar Sharma, In-charge Director, Research & Development, informed the faculty about the Research Seed Money (RSM) scheme, faculty awards, and procedures for securing extramural research grants.
Dr. Vijay Sharma, Registrar, Dr. B. P. Garg, Controller of Examinations, and Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, Finance Officer, briefed the faculty on administrative procedures, examination systems, and finance-related matters. Mr. Mukesh, Deputy Registrar (Establishment), discussed service-related matters, including leave provisions, file processing procedures, and promotion policies.
Prof. Sanjeev Kumar, Dean Students' Welfare, welcomed the faculty members and shared information about the grievance redressal system and student activities, emphasizing the crucial role of teachers in students' holistic development.
Prof. Anil Mantha, In-charge, Store & Purchase Section, along with Mr. Ranbir, Assistant Registrar (Store & Purchase), presented the University's procurement procedures and advised faculty members to submit complete documentation to facilitate timely processing of purchase-related files.
Dr. Amandeep Singh, SAMARTH Coordinator, provided an overview of the SAMARTH portal and its various applications in university administration.
Towards the end of the programme, Prof. Monisha Dhiman, Director, IQAC, shared the University's best practices and encouraged the newly appointed faculty members to contribute actively towards taking the Central University of Punjab to greater heights.
The interaction served as an inspiring beginning for the newly appointed faculty members, motivating them to uphold the ideals of scholarship, integrity, and service while shaping the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
