He blessed this place as ‘Guru Ki Kashi’ i.e. Place of Knowledge and Learning. True to His blessing the town is humming with educational activities. The place is also known as ‘Damdama Sahib’ and is one of the five temporal seats of Sikh Religion. With the blessings of Tenth Guru, ‘Balaji Educational Trust’ was formed in the year 1997. ating word class education facilities for literacy. In the year 1998, the Trust established Guru Gobind Singh Polytechnic College which is now a famous polytechnic of the area with an intake of 1200. Then in the year 2001 Guru Gobind Singh College of Engg. & Technology (GGSCET) got established. Now, GGSCET has been emerged as premier Engineering College of this belt with an intake of 480 seats offering B.Tech courses in CSE, ECE, IT, Mech. and MBA & M.Tech courses. Subsequently, Guru Gobind Singh College of Information Technology and Research (2005), GGS College of Education (2007) and GGS Collegiate Public School (2009) got established. A barren patch of 45 acres of land has been turned into a lush green most modern and high tech educational campus. GGSGC is housed in a multi-stroey building with Well Equipped Labs, Computer Centre, Workshops and well stocked and fully computerized Library. The lecture halls and seminar halls are fitted with latest training aids. The faculty is well qualified, experienced & dedicated and ensures good University Result. GGSGC has a well established Training and Placement cell which ensures 100% Campus Placement for eligible students. Communication skills and Personality Development Training are given due importance at GGSGC.
