Under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Neerja Bhatla, President, AIIMS Bathinda, and Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta, Executive Director, AIIMS Bathinda, the Department of INER celebrated International Nurses Week 2026 with great enthusiasm and professional excellence.

Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta also graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, inspiring participants with his vision and encouragement, which contributed immensely to the successful conduct of the programme on 12th May.

The week-long celebrations were organized under the global theme, “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” and witnessed enthusiastic participation from nursing officers, faculty members, and students, reflecting the spirit of dedication, compassion, and excellence in nursing care.

Under the able guidance and leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta, a School Health Program was organized by the Institute of Nursing Education and Research (INER), AIIMS Bathinda on 13 May, 2026 at Khalsa National Public School Lal Singh Basti Bathinda.

Health assessment and health education on first aid along with demonstration of first responder actions in emergencies (cardiac arrest, stroke, seizures, burns, drowning, choking, snake bite, dog bite, fracture, road accident etc.) was done by M.Sc. Nursing and B.Sc. Nursing 4th Year students. 8th -11th Class students actively participated and showed interest in the session.

AIIMS Bathinda successfully conducted Day 06 activities of Fire Safety Week 2026 on 9th May 2026 under the guidance of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta.

A Hazard Identification Drive and Fire Safety Awareness Session with Mock Drill was organized to strengthen fire prevention awareness, emergency preparedness, evacuation protocols, and workplace safety across the institute.

Healthcare workers, faculty, administration, engineering, and laboratory teams actively participated in promoting a culture of safety and preparedness.

AIIMS Bathinda successfully conducted Day 05 activities of Fire Safety Week 2026 under the guidance of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta.

Fire safety awareness sessions and mock drills were organized at the NICU, Birthing Centre, and PICU IPD to strengthen emergency preparedness, evacuation protocols, and safe firefighting practices among healthcare workers and staff.

The Fire & Safety Team demonstrated the proper use of fire extinguishers along with PASS and RACE fire safety techniques, ensuring enhanced awareness and response readiness in critical care areas.

Under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta, Executive Director, AIIMS Bathinda, the institute has signed an MoU with the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) to foster academic collaboration and jointly develop and deliver training programs in obesity, One Health, and other priority public health domains.

This collaboration will strengthen capacity-building for healthcare professionals through joint course development, academic inputs, faculty engagement, and dissemination of evidence-informed learning resources.

Such partnerships are important for building a stronger, skilled, and future-ready public health workforce.

AIIMS Bathinda successfully organized its first National Surgical Oncology Conference — Onco Conclave 2026 on 9–10 May 2026 under the visionary leadership of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta.

The conference brought together eminent surgical oncology experts from across the country for insightful discussions on early cancer detection, multidisciplinary cancer care, and recent advances in oncology treatment.

The conclave served as a significant platform for knowledge exchange, clinical learning, and strengthening collaborative approaches for improving patient outcomes and quality of life.

AIIMS Bathinda remains committed to advancing medical education, clinical excellence, and cancer awareness through such academic initiatives.

Under the visionary leadership of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta, AIIMS Bathinda successfully concluded Swachhata Pakhwada (1–15 April 2026) with a vibrant valedictory ceremony held at the Institute Auditorium.

Over the 15-day campaign, the institute carried out cleanliness drives, audits, infection control initiatives, awareness programs, training sessions, and community outreach activities to promote a clean, safe, and sustainable healthcare environment.

The closing ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from MBBS and Nursing students through mock parliament, role plays, and panel discussions. Departments including Psychiatry, Pathology, Biochemistry, and Neonatology also contributed actively. Sanitation workers and departments were felicitated for their dedicated efforts towards maintaining hygiene and cleanliness across the campus.
