Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan | Awareness Session at Village Bhagi Ba**er

Department of Community & Family Medicine & Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS Bathinda organized an awareness session at Village Bhagi Ba**er on 18 August 2026 under the Sehat Saathi Mobile Medical Van initiative, in collaboration with HMEL, focusing on the harmful consequences of substance addiction and promoting a healthy, drug-free life.

A powerful Nukkad Natak presented by MBBS students (2024 Batch) effectively conveyed the message “No to Drugs, Yes to Life”, engaging the community and highlighting the importance of timely support, awareness and collective action against substance abuse.

The initiative reaffirmed the commitment towards building a healthier, safer and drug-free society.

Institute of Nursing Education and Research (INER), AIIMS Bathinda, organized a Reel Competition and “My Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047” Vision Board Competition as part of the ongoing Independence Day celebrations under the theme “A United India @80 – Our Vision. Our Freedom. Our Future.”

The competitions provide students a creative platform to showcase their patriotism, creativity, innovative ideas, and vision for a developed India. Students are encouraged to express their ideas through engaging reels and creative vision boards reflecting their vision for Viksit Bharat 2047.

Through these initiatives, INER, AIIMS Bathinda continues to inspire young nursing professionals to think creatively, express confidently, and contribute to nation-building.

एम्स बठिंडा ने 15 अगस्त 2026 को भारत का 80वाँ स्वतंत्रता दिवस देशभक्ति के उत्साह, उमंग और गौरव के साथ मनाया।

इस अवसर पर संस्थान के कार्यकारी निदेशक, प्रो. (डॉ.) रतन गुप्ता ने सभी को संबोधित करते हुए इस ऐतिहासिक अवसर की शुभकामनाएँ दीं तथा राष्ट्र निर्माण, समर्पण और समाज की सेवा के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला। संस्थान के संकाय सदस्यों, अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों एवं विद्यार्थियों ने कार्यक्रम में उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया और राष्ट्र के प्रति अपनी गहरी देशभक्ति एवं प्रतिबद्धता का प्रदर्शन किया।

Institute of Nursing Education and Research (INER), AIIMS Bathinda, witnessed the participation of 165 B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing students in the Addiction-Free India Pledge as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The initiative aimed to promote awareness regarding the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage students to adopt a healthy, positive, value-based, and addiction-free lifestyle.

The students pledged to stay away from all forms of substance abuse, inspire their families, friends, and society to embrace an addiction-free way of life, make the best use of their time, energy, abilities, and resources, and contribute positively towards building a healthy, addiction-free, and developed India.

The Department of Community and Family Medicine, AIIMS Bathinda, conducted a Health Awareness Talk on Anemia today at the OPD Foyer, AIIMS Bathinda, as part of the Anemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, under the Har Tiranga initiative being celebrated from 9 to 17 August.
The session focused on raising awareness about anemia, its prevention, early detection, and appropriate management, with an emphasis on simple and practical measures for maintaining good health.
The programme witnessed active participation from approximately 100 patients and attendants, making the session engaging, interactive, and impactful.
Awareness today. Prevention tomorrow. Together towards an Anemia-Free India.

Celebrating the Spirit of Patriotism | Har Ghar Tiranga 2026

As part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga 2026” celebrations, on 10th August 2026, a musical event was organised in the AIIMS Bathinda auditorium, featuring the performance of patriotic songs by faculty, students and staff of the institute.

The event opened with a soulful rendition of the National Song, Bankim Chandra’s Vande Mataram, and concluded with the performance of the National Anthem. The performances and enthusiastic participation filled the auditorium with a strong sense of patriotism and national pride. Congratulating the participants, Executive Director, Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta appreciated the students’ efforts and emphasised the need to diligently perform our everyday duties for the nation.

Department of Ophthalmology, AIIMS Bathinda Installs Advanced ARTEVO Callisto Surgical System

The Department of Ophthalmology at AIIMS Bathinda has strengthened its eye care services with the installation of the state-of-the-art high-end operating microscope CARL ZEISS ARTEVO 750 with CALLISTO EYE. The advanced technology enhances the precision and safety of delicate eye surgeries, particularly corneal transplants, cataract and vitreoretinal procedures, leading to improved visual outcomes and faster recovery for patients.

The installation marks a significant step in making world-class ophthalmic care accessible to the people of Punjab and neighbouring regions. Besides improving patient care, the ARTEVO Callisto EYE will also enhance the training of ophthalmology residents by providing superior digital visualisation during surgery. The addition of this cutting-edge system reflects the commitment of the Department of Ophthalmology, AIIMS Bathinda, to deliver an affordable, high-quality eye care while reducing the burden of avoidable blindness in the region.

Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 | Prabhat Feri at AIIMS Bathinda

In compliance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, regarding the celebration of “Har Ghar Tiranga 2026” from 9th to 17th August 2026, a Prabhat Feri was organised at AIIMS Bathinda on 9th August 2026, today, commencing from the front of the Medical College Building, AIIMS Bathinda.
Faculty Members, Officers, Staff, Residents, Students, and other concerned members participated with utmost zeal and enthusiasm in the Prabhat Feri.
The initiative reflected the collective commitment of the AIIMS Bathinda community towards honouring the National Flag and the values of unity and integrity.

The Department of Community and Family Medicine, AIIMS Bathinda observed World Breastfeeding Week 2026 from 1st-7th August 2026 through a series of health awareness talks and outreach activities aligned with the Rural and Urban Health Training Centers (UHTC & RHTC), Subcenter, and Anganwadi Centre (AWC) associated with the department.

The activities were aimed at promoting exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life by involving various stakeholders- pregnant and lactating women, their families, ASHA and ANM health care workers, Anganwadi workers (AWW), RHTC/UHTC staff.

The Day-wise activities are lined below:
1. 1st August: Nukkad Natak, followed by a Health Awareness Talk and an interactive Myth-Busting Session in the OPD service area of AIIMS Hospital, Bathinda.

2. 3rd August: Health Awareness Talk, followed by quiz competition for ASHA and ANM health care workers and a Nukkad Natak at the UHTC, Lal Singh Basti, Bathinda.

3. 4th August: Interactive session with ASHAs, ANMs, LHVs, and other health care workers at the RHTC, Sangat.

4. 5th August: Interactive Health Awareness and Myth-Busting Session at RHTC, Badal, followed by a short skit and inauguration of Breastfeeding Corner.

5. ⁠6th August: Interactive health awareness sessions and educational skit at Phulo-Mithi AWC and Jai Singh Wala Sub-centre, Badal.

Poster, slogan and reel competition among students were also evaluated at the CFM department, AIIMS Bathinda.
