On the Eve of New Year 2025

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) is observed on October 31 each year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He was instrumental in India’s struggle for independence and played a vital role in the integration of the princely states into the Indian Union.

On this day in 2015, the Hon'ble Prime Minister launched the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative to mark Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 140th birth anniversary. This initiative aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultures, traditions, and practices of India’s states and Union Territories, thereby strengthening the unity and integrity of India.

Under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, the Ministry of Education organizes various events, including Yuva Sangam, Kashi Tamil Sangam, and Akhil Bharatiya Siksha Samagam, among others. These activities promote interaction and bonding between different regions, reinforcing the spirit of national unity.
