'Silver Oaks School Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour'
Silver Oaks School, Rampura Road, celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15th August 2026 with immense enthusiasm, pride and patriotic fervour. The School Director, Mrs Barninder Paul Sekhon, graced the occasion and joined the students and staff in commemorating the nation’s freedom and celebrating the values that make India proud.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem, which filled the school campus with a profound sense of pride, respect and patriotism.
Tamanpreet Singh of Grade 7 delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking speech, highlighting the significance of Independence Day and reminding the younger generation of their responsibilities towards the nation. Garvit Kumar of Grade 4 presented a heartfelt poem that beautifully expressed the emotions of patriotism and love for the motherland.
A special highlight of the programme was the energetic patriotic dance presented by the students of Grade 6, paying heartfelt homage to the brave soldiers who stand steadfast in the service of the nation and guard its borders with courage and dedication. Another powerful dance performance by the students of Grades 4, 7 and 8 paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose courage, sacrifice and unwavering spirit paved the way for India's independence.
Addressing the students, Mrs Barninder Paul Sekhon, School Director, spoke about the meaning of freedom in a way that connected naturally with the young minds. She emphasised that love for the nation is expressed not only through great deeds but also through everyday actions.
At the conclusion of the programme, Mrs Chhaya Vinocha, Principal, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the School Director, teachers and students for their wholehearted participation, dedication and collective efforts in making the celebration meaningful and memorable.
