Post Graduate Department of Computer Science & IT, SL BAWA DAV COLLEGE BATALA, organized a hands-on Workshop on Computer Hardware Assembling, Troubleshooting, and Operating System Installation. The workshop aimed to enhance the practical skills of students by providing them with real-time exposure to essential computer hardware operations and software installation techniques.During the session, students learned about assembling different hardware components, diagnosing technical issues, troubleshooting system errors, and successfully installing and configuring operating systems. Resource person of the day Sh. Kamaljeet Singh ( Hardware Engineer) guided participants through practical demonstrations, ensuring that students developed both confidence and competence in managing computer systems independently. Head of the Department Prof. SK KAUSHAL highlighted that such initiatives bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry requirements, thereby preparing students for future careers in IT and related domains. Principal Dr Varinder Bhatia appreciated the department’s efforts in equipping students with employable technical skills and stressed the importance of continuous learning in today’s technology-driven world.Faculty members Prof Rajeev Mehta, Prof Sukhwinder Singh, Prof Silki Khanna, Prof Smile and others, as well as around 100 students of BCA, BSc IT, PGDCA, DCA, MSc IT, BA/ B.Sc Computer Science actively participated, making the workshop highly engaging and beneficial. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session and a note of thanks by Arshpreet Singh of BCA to the organizers and participants.
