Workshop on Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Startups
(21st February, 2026)
Under the aegis of Dr. Varinder Bhatia, Principal, the PG Department of Commerce & Management, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a workshop on “Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Startups” in the Commerce Lab.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Dinesh Kumar, who shared insights on developing a creative mindset and transforming innovative ideas into successful ventures, emphasizing innovation and strategic thinking in the startup ecosystem.
The session was graced by Prof. Pawan Malik, President of IIC, along with faculty members of the Commerce Department. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Amanpreet Kaur, expressing gratitude to the speakers and participants.

Budget Pe charcha: A vision for viksit Bharat held on 23-02-26

An event on the Union Govt Budget (2026-27) was organised on 23-Feb- 2026 under the aegis of Principal Dr. Varinder Bhatia to discuss the process of Budget preparation by Central Govt., expectations from budget, importance of budget in Individual life and Tax regime. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Head of the Department of Commerce, highlighted an important difference between government budget practices in India and the United States of America. The discussion was linked with the concept of *Zero-Based Budgeting* (ZBB) and administrative efficiency.Geetu and Ginni Sharma (M.Com S-IV), Pratik (BBA S-VI), Kevin and Vansh (BBA S-IV), Mehakpreet Kaur (BBA S-IV) and Purnima (BBA S-IV) presented their topics through powerpoint presentation and students from actively participated in the discussion.

Under the patronage of Principal Dr Varinder Bhatia and guidance from HOD Dr Dinesh Kumar, a Business Awareness Quiz and Declamation Contest was organised on 27th September 2025.

In the Quiz Competition, Tania (BBA, Semester V) secured the first position, while Mohpreet Singh (B.Com, Semester III) won the second position.

Faculty members including Prof. Amanpreet Kaur, Prof. Shaweta Gupta, Prof. Mansi Mahajan, Prof. Geetanjali, and Prof. Shahnaazpreet Kaur extended their support in organizing and managing the event successfully.

Prof. Shahnaazpreet Kaur managed the stage and delivered the Vote of Thanks, marking the successful conclusion of the program.
