Teachers’ Day Celebration on 5th September 2026 was nothing short of a gala affair at Douglas Memorial Higher Secondary School!

The day began on a vibrant note, with all our teachers dressed in their finest, looking absolutely splendid and ready to celebrate the spirit of togetherness. The celebrations kicked off with a delightful cultural programme featuring mesmerising dance performances, melodious songs, spirited declamations, and hilarious games that had everyone laughing and quite literally falling off their chairs!

Our Rector Sir added warmth and inspiration to the occasion with his heartfelt stories and words of wisdom, reminding us of the purpose, passion and joy that lie at the heart of being an educator.

The celebrations became even more special with our much-awaited Ilish Utsav! Teachers were treated to a sumptuous feast featuring two delectable preparations of Ilish, dal, chorchuri, and an irresistible spread of sweets. It was truly a feast worthy of the occasion!

As the day came to a close, there were smiles all around, laughter in the air, and a wonderful sense of camaraderie.

The day ended with hearts happy, spirits high, and bellies delightfully full!

Our young champions proudly represented the State of West Bengal at the CISCE National Swimming Championship, bringing home outstanding achievements:

🥈 Cindrella Ghosh – 2nd Position, 4×100m Freestyle Relay

🥈 Parnovo Saha – 2nd Position, 200m Butterfly

🥉 Parnovo Saha – 3rd Position, 800m Freestyle

Adding to our pride, Parnovo Saha has been selected for the SGFI (School Games Federation of India)! 🇮🇳
