Report on the Celebration of World Environment Day

Government Secondary School, Lower Bermiok celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, teachers, and staff members. The programme was organized to create awareness about environmental protection and the importance of preserving nature for future generations.
The celebration began with a special assembly where the importance of World Environment Day was highlighted. The Headmaster addressed the gathering and encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices such as reducing plastic use, conserving water, planting trees, and keeping the surroundings clean.
Various activities were conducted during the programme, including speech competitions, poster-making activities, and awareness talks on environmental conservation. Students actively participated and shared their ideas on protecting the environment from pollution and climate change.
A tree plantation drive was also organized within the school premises. Teachers and students planted saplings and pledged to take care of them. A cleanliness campaign was carried out around the school campus to promote the message of a clean and green environment.
The celebration concluded with a pledge taken by all participants to protect nature and contribute towards a sustainable future. The programme was successful in spreading environmental awareness and motivating students to become responsible citizens.
