ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਸੱਚਖੰਡਵਾਸੀ ਸੰਤ ਬਾਬਾ ਇਕਬਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ 'ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਗੌਰਵ' ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਹ 'ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਗੌਰਵ' ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਮੁਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜੈ ਰਾਮ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਵਲੋਂ ਕਲਗੀਧਰ ਟ੍ਰਸਟ ਬੜੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਬਾ ਵਿੱਚ 15 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 2022 ਨੂੰ 'ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਦਿਵਸ' ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਕੁਝ ਸਮਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਲਗੀਧਰ ਟ੍ਰਸਟ ਬੜੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ 129 ਅਕਾਲ ਅਕੈਡਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਤ ਬਾਬਾ ਇਕਬਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ 'ਪਦਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ' ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ਸੀ।

Are You Really a Sikh?

This is an important question to ask yourself. Many people consider themselves Sikhs but don't even know what a Sikh looks like.

With so many of today's Sikh youth wearing caps instead of turbans, trimming their beards, and girls waxing their eyebrows, it's hard to believe that we should still be called Singh and Kaur.

Our ancestors held to their beliefs through the most challenging times in history, like when the Ninth Master of Sikhs, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, attained martyrdom for the sake of the religion of Kashmiri Pandits and Chaar Sahibzaade attained martyrdom but did not give up their religion.

Tomorrow is Sikh Dastar Day and on the 14th of April is Khalsa Sajna Diwas, the day when the Tenth Master of Sikhs, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, founded Khalsa Panth by blessing the Sikhs with Divine Nectar (Amrit). The men had the word 'Singh' (Divine Lion), and for the women, the word 'Kaur' (Divine Princess) suffixed their names.

And have we remained 'Singh' and 'Kaur' today?

Consuming alcohol and eating meat are considered pride in today's world. Even those who do not do all this are given the tag of outdated.

When Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji told Mata Sundari Ji about the Martyrdom of his Chaar Sahibzaade, he said:

In Putran Ke Sees Par Vaar Diye Sut Chaar
Chaar Muye To Kya Hua Jeevat Kayi Hazaar.

बडू साहिब व अकाल अकादमी के संस्थापक विद्या मार्तण्ड शिरोमणि पंथ रतन संत बाबा इकबाल सिंह जी आज 28 मार्च को मरणोपरान्त पद्म श्री सम्मान मिला है। यह राष्ट्रीय सम्मान कलगीधर ट्रस्ट बडू साहिब के वर्तमान अध्यक्ष डा. दविंदर सिंह जी ने प्राप्त किया।

संत बाबा इक़बाल सिंह जी को मिला मरणोपरान्त पद्म श्री सम्मान

कलगीधर ट्रस्ट बड़ू साहिब के पूर्व अध्यक्ष एवं अकाल अकादमी के संस्थापक विद्या मार्तण्ड शिरोमणि पंथ रतन संत बाबा इकबाल सिंह जी आज 28 मार्च को मरणोपरान्त पद्म श्री सम्मान मिला है। यह राष्ट्रीय सम्मान कलगीधर ट्रस्ट बडू साहिब के वर्तमान अध्यक्ष डा. दविंदर सिंह जी ने प्राप्त किया। संत बाबा इकबाल सिंह जी को समाज सेवा के लिए पद्मश्री सम्मान के लिए नामित किया गया था, लेकिन इस घोषणा के तीन दिन बाद ही वह दिव्य ज्योति में लीन हो गए थे। संत बाबा इकबाल सिंह जी ने बडू साहिब में मात्र 5 विद्यार्थिओं के साथ शिक्षा की जो मशाल अकाल अकादमी की स्थापना से जलाई, वह आज उत्तरी भारत के ५ राज्यों हिमाचल प्रदेश, पंजाब, हरियाणा, उत्तर प्रदेश व राजस्थान में 70 हजार बच्चों को 129 अकाल अकादमियों में गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा देने की मशाल बन चुकी है। ट्रस्ट के दो विश्वविद्यालय भी है, जबकि महिलाओं को स्वरोजगार से जोड़ने के लिए अनेकों प्रशिक्षण केंद्र संचालित किए जा रहे है। इसके अतिरिक्त युवाओं को नशे की चपेट से बचाव हेतू नशा निवारण के लिए भी प्रभावी कार्य नशा-मुक्ति केंद्रों के माध्यम से किए जा रहे है। बाबा इकबाल सिंह जी का अधिकतर समय हिमाचल के बडू साहिब में ही गुजरा। उन्होंने कई दशकों तक कृषि विभाग में सरकारी सेवा की और हिमाचल प्रदेश कृषि विभाग के निदेशक पद से वर्ष 1986 में सेवानिवृत्त हुए। उसके पश्चात का उनका सारा जीवन शिक्षा प्रसार, अध्यात्म व समाजसेवा में ही गुजरा।

Shiromani Panth Ratan Baba Iqbal Singh Ji conferred Padma Shri Award

Great news for Sikh Panth!

We are happy to share the proud moment that the President of The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib, Shiromani Panth Ratan Baba Iqbal Singh Ji has been conferred Padma Shri award for his social work by the Government of India. The nonagenarian educationist, social worker and philanthropist Baba Iqbal Singh Ji is doing yeoman’s service for the betterment of society.

He is one of 107 awardees for the Padma Shri Award announced by the Government of India on the eve of Republic Day 2022.

The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib is doing social work in Rural Education, Drug De-addiction and Women Empowerment.
Baba Iqbal Singh Ji has been doing yeoman's service in the field of rural education for almost 75 years. Under the guidance of Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, The Kalgidhar Trust / Society, Baru Sahib is running 129 Akal Academies and 2 Universities in North India. 1 Charitable Hospital and 2 De-addiction Centers are also being run by the Trust. In the field of women empowerment, underprivileged rural girls are given free teacher training and given the job of teacher in the Akal Academies being run under the auspices of The Kalgidhar Trust.

Padma Shri Award is the fourth highest civilian honour awarded to citizens of India for their distinguished contribution in various fields of activity including education, arts, literature, science, acting, social service and public affairs.
