जिला शिक्षा एवं प्रशिक्षण संस्थान बड़कोट, उत्तरकाशी मे आज दिनांक 14 अप्रैल 2026 को डॉ. भीमराव अंबेडकर जयंती बड़े उत्साह एवं गरिमा के साथ मनाई गई।
कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ दीप प्रज्वलन एवं सरस्वती वंदना के साथ हुआ। इस अवसर पर संस्थान के प्राचार्य एवं वक्ताओं ने डॉ. अंबेडकर के जीवन, उनके द्वारा सामानता, न्याय, सामाजिक उत्थान, अस्पृश्यता, भारतीय संविधान निर्माण आदि क्षेत्रों में उनके अमूल्य योगदान पर प्रकाश डाला।

कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत डी.एल.एड. प्रथम व द्वितीय सेमेस्टर के प्रशिक्षणार्थियों द्वारा भाषण एवं सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से सामाजिक समानता एवं शिक्षा के महत्व को प्रस्तुत किया गया।
संस्थान के प्रभारी प्राचार्य श्री हेमू बिष्ट ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि डॉ. अंबेडकर के विचार आज भी समाज के लिए प्रेरणास्रोत हैं और शिक्षा के माध्यम से ही सशक्त एवं समतामूलक समाज का निर्माण संभव है। इस कार्यक्रम का समन्वयन गोपाल सिंह राणा द्वारा किया गया |

On March 17, 2026, the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Barkot, Uttarkashi, organized a Mathematics Fair for upper primary students under the State Center of Excellence for Mathematics. Inaugurated by Principal shri Sanjeev Joshi, the event saw enthusiastic participation from over 100 students representing 5 schools. The fair featured interactive stalls, mathematical puzzles, quizzes, and models, alongside a TLM exhibition presented by D.El.Ed. trainees.The program was Coordinated by Lecturer Babita Sajwan. The initiative aimed to eliminate "Math phobia" and simplify complex concepts through play-way methods. The event was supported by the DIET faculty and others, who emphasized making mathematics a joyful and engaging subject for young learners.

A one-day orientation workshop for students volunteers under the Government of India’s ambitious "Education for All" initiative, specifically the "ULLAS - Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram" (New India Literacy Program), was organized on 14 March 2026 at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Barkot, Uttarkashi.
​The workshop provided training to student volunteers from the NCC, NSS, and Scouts & Guides units of Government Degree College Barkot, Government Inter College Naugaon, and Holy Life Public School. These students were trained to serve as volunteer teachers to ensure the success of the literacy mission.
​In his address, Principal Sanjeev Joshi emphasized that this program is rooted in a sense of duty, stating that it is the responsibility of every educated citizen to contribute to the nation's goal of 100% literacy. Program Coordinator Shanti Raturi highlighted that this innovative effort is essential for achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4.6 and effectively implementing NEP-2020 at the grassroots level. The event was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Pushpendra Semwal, along with DIET lecturers Dr. Subodh Singh Bisht, Mohd. Arshad Ansari, and Mr. Tikaram.

On March 13, 2026, a two-day orientation for Block and Cluster Resource Persons (BRPs and CRPs) concluded at DIET Barkot, Uttarkashi. Coordinated by Arvind Chauhan and inaugurated by Principal Sanjeev Joshi, the program focused on NEP-2020, NAS, and PARAKH, while emphasizing school monitoring and grassroots initiatives like Mission Koshish and English Speaking Day. Participants also explored digital and AI-based platforms. Facilitated by DIET faculty and APF representatives, the session ended with a certificate ceremony and a focused discussion on future training needs.

DRG (District Resource Group)Science was organized from 26 Feb to 28 Feb 2026 for the primary teachers of the district at the DIET Barkot 2026 and Science exhibition was also organised on 28 Feb 2026 at DIET barkot.About 250 students from the served area participated in this event. During the exhibition, D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) trainees demonstrated various science-based experiments through "play-way" methods.
​The program was inaugurated by the officiating Principal of DIET, Dr. Subodh Singh Bisht. He stated that such events contribute significantly to the mental development of students and provide them with extensive learning opportunities.

A comprehensive training program on the Uttra Module was recently conducted at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Barkot, Uttarkashi from 13 Feb 2026 to 22 Feb 2026.The session trained 211 Anganwadi workers from co-located centers across the district.The primary objective of this initiative, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, is to strengthen pre-primary education. Workers were introduced to foundational concepts to support children during the crucial first five years of development. Principal shri Sanjeev Joshi emphasized that 85% of brain development occurs by age 6, making early intervention vital.
​The program was supported by experts from DIET and members of the Azim Premji Foundation, focusing on empowering workers to effectively manage "Balvatika" (pre-school) levels.The program was co-ordinated by Lecturer Shanti Raturi.

"A poster competition was organized as part of the Road Safety Campaign at DIET Barkot on 12 Feb 2026.All D.El.Ed. trainees participated in this event.The event aimed to raise awareness about traffic rules and safety measures among the participants."The top five performers were honored for their creativity: Suyash Aswal secured first place, followed by Nisha Chauhan in second, Kumari Rachita in third, Kumari Himani in fourth, and Kumari Satakshi Sharma in fifth. The second phase of a five-days Abacus training program was concluded at DIET Barkot, Uttarkashi from 9 Feb 2026 to 13 Feb 2026 involving 48 primary teachers from various blocks of Uttarkashi. Training was Led by Master Trainers Sanjeev Negi and Amit Shah.The workshop focused on equipping educators with techniques to perform mathematical addition and subtraction with high speed and accuracy. DIET Principal Shri Sanjeev Joshi emphasized that these Abacus methods are essential for making math engaging and developing sharp mental calculation skills in young students.The program was co-ordinated by Lecturer Babita Sajwan.

A district-level Abacus Competition was organized at DIET Barkot under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. The event was inaugurated by Principal Sanjeev Joshi, who emphasized that the abacus is a vital tool for developing mental calculation, mathematical proficiency, concentration, and overall cognitive growth. The competition, held in three rounds and coordinated by Babita Sajwan, saw Vedansh from Government Primary School (GPS) Maneri securing first place, followed by Sheetal (GPS Maneri) in second and Vishal (GPS Badethi) in third. A One-day State-level seminar titled "Innovation in English Language Teaching: Strategies for Foundational Stage and Middle Stage Classrooms" was held at DIET Barkot, Uttarkashi on February 5, 2026. The event was inaugurated by Principal Shri Sanjeev Joshi and Chief Guest Prof. Brij Mohan (NIE, NCERT), who served as the lead resource person. Facilitated by Hemu Bisht, the seminar focused on strengthening English pedagogy through innovation, featuring research paper presentations from teacher representatives across all districts of Uttarakhand. The session included expert feedback from Prof. Brij Mohan and concluded with reflections from D.El.Ed trainee Shatakshi Sharma, in the presence of various block mentors and DIET faculty members.
