Atal Innovation Mission ATL APS BD BARI
Under the Vidyanjali Project, APS BD Bari had the privilege of hosting 30 enthusiastic students along with 3 Teachers from Government Higher Secondary School Smailpur for a one-day workshop on 15 May 2026. The Title of the workshop was Microcontrollers -- “The Brain Behind Smart Electronics.” The workshop was organised in the school’s Atal Tinkering Lab with the objective of fostering scientific temperament, innovation, and hands-on learning among young learners.
The session commenced with an introduction to the aim and vision of the workshop, where students were acquainted with the importance of microcontrollers in modern smart devices and automation systems. They were also introduced to the concept and objectives of the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL), highlighting how ATL promotes creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and experiential learning among students.
During the workshop, students explored various sensors, electronic components, and advanced tools available in the ATL Lab. They gained valuable insights into the practical applications of sensors and microcontrollers used in smart electronics and real-world projects.
One of the major highlights of the workshop was the hands-on experience on Tinkercad, where students learned the basics of circuit designing and simulation in a virtual environment. The participants enthusiastically performed practical activities on breadboards, including the creation of a Traffic Light System using LEDs and basic electronic components, which helped them understand circuit connections and logic building in an engaging manner.
The workshop culminated with an exciting final project where students collaboratively designed and created a Smart Sticks for Blind Persons. The project demonstrated the practical use of sensors and microcontrollers to assist visually impaired individuals by detecting obstacles and enhancing mobility. The activity not only strengthened their technical understanding but also inspired them to develop technology-driven solutions for social good.
The workshop proved to be an enriching and highly interactive learning experience for all participants.
