Atal Innovation Mission ATL APS BD BARI

Under the Vidyanjali Project, APS BD Bari had the privilege of hosting 30 enthusiastic students along with 3 Teachers from Government Higher Secondary School Smailpur for a one-day workshop on 15 May 2026. The Title of the workshop was Microcontrollers -- “The Brain Behind Smart Electronics.” The workshop was organised in the school’s Atal Tinkering Lab with the objective of fostering scientific temperament, innovation, and hands-on learning among young learners.
The session commenced with an introduction to the aim and vision of the workshop, where students were acquainted with the importance of microcontrollers in modern smart devices and automation systems. They were also introduced to the concept and objectives of the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL), highlighting how ATL promotes creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and experiential learning among students.
During the workshop, students explored various sensors, electronic components, and advanced tools available in the ATL Lab. They gained valuable insights into the practical applications of sensors and microcontrollers used in smart electronics and real-world projects.
One of the major highlights of the workshop was the hands-on experience on Tinkercad, where students learned the basics of circuit designing and simulation in a virtual environment. The participants enthusiastically performed practical activities on breadboards, including the creation of a Traffic Light System using LEDs and basic electronic components, which helped them understand circuit connections and logic building in an engaging manner.
The workshop culminated with an exciting final project where students collaboratively designed and created a Smart Sticks for Blind Persons. The project demonstrated the practical use of sensors and microcontrollers to assist visually impaired individuals by detecting obstacles and enhancing mobility. The activity not only strengthened their technical understanding but also inspired them to develop technology-driven solutions for social good.
The workshop proved to be an enriching and highly interactive learning experience for all participants.

🚀 SEED Programme at IIT Jammu – Inspiring Young Innovators! 🌟



We are delighted to share that 30 students from Classes VII to X actively participated in the SEED Programme organized by the Institute Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Centre (I2EDC), IIT Jammu on 04 May 2026. The programme was thoughtfully designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and an innovative mindset among young learners.

The session began with an insightful introduction to innovation and entrepreneurship, helping students understand the importance of creative thinking and problem-solving in today’s world. This was followed by an engaging short video on the history of the wheel, which gave students a fascinating perspective on how simple inventions can transform human life.

Students were then introduced to the components of an RC (Remote Control) car, where they explored the functionality and purpose of each part. A detailed presentation on designing and assembling an RC car further enhanced their understanding of basic engineering concepts. The concept of disassembly logic was also explained, enabling students to learn how machines can be understood by carefully taking them apart and analyzing their structure.

The highlight of the programme was the hands-on activity, where students got the opportunity to apply their learning practically. This interactive session encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and innovation, making the learning experience both enjoyable and impactful.

🏅 Achievements & Recognition:
All participating students were awarded Level 1 Badges – “Young Explorer” along with certificates in recognition of their active participation and learning.
👏 A special round of applause for 5 outstanding students who demonstrated exceptional understanding and skills, earning Level 2 Badges – “Young Tinkerer.”

The SEED Programme proved to be an inspiring and enriching experience, sparking enthusiasm among students towards science, technology, and innovation. Such initiatives play a crucial role in shaping the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.

The school successfully celebrated the ATL Community Day over two days with great enthusiasm and active participation from students. The primary objective of the celebration was to create awareness among students about the purpose and vision of the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) and to inspire them towards innovation, creativity, and problem-solving.
During the event, students were sensitized to the objectives of ATL, including fostering a spirit of curiosity, encouraging design thinking, and promoting hands-on learning through real-life applications. They were introduced to the concept of tinkering and how technology can be used to develop innovative solutions for everyday challenges.
A key highlight of the celebration was the series of hands-on sessions conducted for the students. They actively engaged in working with various tools, sensors, and microcontrollers, gaining practical exposure to basic electronics and emerging technologies. Students explored components such as Sound sensors, LDR Sensors, Motion sensors, and microcontrollers, and learned how these can be integrated into simple projects.
The sessions were designed to enhance students’ technical skills, critical thinking, and collaborative learning. Overall, the ATL Community Day celebration proved to be an enriching experience, motivating students to explore, experiment, and innovate while strengthening their interest in STEM fields.

Educational Visit to IIT Jammu – PRAGYAAN 2026

On 07 February 2026, a group of 40 students, accompanied by 3 teachers from Army Public School, BD Bari, visited IIT Jammu to participate in the Open House Event PRAGYAAN 2026. The visit aimed to provide students with firsthand exposure to the academic environment, world-class infrastructure, and innovative culture of a premier institute, motivating them to aim higher in their academic journey.
🔹 Highlights of the Visit:
✅ A comprehensive campus tour showcasing modern laboratories, classrooms, and research facilities.
✅ Inspiring presentations of innovative projects by IIT students, encouraging creative and scientific thinking.
✅ An interactive session guiding students on IIT entrance preparation, campus life, and career opportunities.
✅ Participation in the STEM Innovation Challenge (07–08 Feb 2026), where our project “Pyrolysis of Plastic” was shortlisted. Two students and a mentor teacher proudly represented the school, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The visit enriched our students with valuable insights into IIT’s academic culture and research environment. It broadened their outlook on science and technology, strengthened their problem-solving skills, and boosted their confidence to pursue excellence. Most importantly, it inspired them to prepare diligently for future challenges and opportunities.
The visit to IIT Jammu under PRAGYAAN 2026 was truly a memorable and motivating experience for both students and teachers of APS BD Bari. Such initiatives play a vital role in nurturing young minds and guiding them towards a bright and successful future.
