*Deepmala College of Nursing Bareilly* celebrated *International Yoga Day* on 21st June 2025 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty members. The event aimed to promote the importance of yoga for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The session was gracefully conducted by *Mr. Utkarsh Gangwar,* an experienced yoga teacher, who guided all participants through various yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques. His session was highly engaging, focusing on improving flexibility, reducing stress, and enhancing concentration.

All *B.Sc. Nursing* and *GNM students*, along with the *faculty* members, participated actively in the yoga session. The atmosphere was filled with energy, positivity, and a shared sense of mindfulness.

*Principal Prof. Kavita Sharma* addressed the gathering and explained the importance of Yoga in daily life, highlighting its role in maintaining health, reducing anxiety, and building a strong immune system. She encouraged students to make yoga a regular part of their routine.

The celebration of International Yoga Day at *Deepmala College of Nursing* was a grand success, promoting health awareness and the value of holistic living among the future healthcare professionals.

*Simulation-Based Training Program Conducted at Deepmala College of Nursing, Bareilly*

*Dates*: 28th & 29th May 2025
In Collaboration with: *Vidhyanta Skills, Noida*

Deepmala College of Nursing, Bareilly organized a comprehensive two-day *Simulation-Based* Training Program on *28th and 29th May 2025* in collaboration with the expert simulation training team from Vidhyanta Skills, Noida. The training aimed to enhance the clinical competencies of nursing students through experiential learning, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.

*Day 1: 28th May 2025*

Module: *Health Assessment*
Participants: *B.Sc. Nursing 2nd Semester Students*

The first day focused on the Health Assessment Module, specially designed for B.Sc. Nursing 2nd semester students. The session included both theoretical instruction and hands-on practical training using simulation mannequins and skill stations. Students were guided through systematic assessment techniques including:

General physical examination

Vital sign monitoring

Head-to-toe assessment

Use of diagnostic tools in clinical settings

The interactive simulation-based environment allowed students to actively participate and refine their assessment skills under expert supervision.

*Day 2: 29th May 2025*

Module: *Palliative Care*
Participants: *B.Sc. Nursing 4th Semester Students*

On the second day, the focus shifted to Palliative Care, aimed at B.Sc. Nursing 4th semester students. The session addressed the principles and practices of providing comfort-focused care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. The module covered:

Basics of palliative care and communication skills

Pain and symptom management

Psychological and spiritual care of terminally ill patients

Ethical and legal aspects of end-of-life care

Students received both classroom-based theoretical inputs and simulation-guided practical exposure. They practiced realistic scenarios using high-fidelity simulators, helping them build confidence in managing sensitive and emotionally challenging situations.

Venue: Deepmala College of Nursing, Bareilly
Deepmala College of Nursing, Bareilly, hosted an exciting Freshers' Party on 5th October 2024 for the newly admitted B.Sc. Nursing (2024-25) and GNM (2024-25) batches. The event was anchored smoothly by Mr. Devesh Patel and Ms. Afia Firoj from B.Sc. Nursing 3rd semester, ensuring seamless flow throughout the program.
The celebration began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by the warm welcome of distinguished guests. Mrs. Rama Seth, guest of honor, was welcomed by Ms. Meetu Bhatnagar. Dr. Somesh Mehrotra, Director of Deepmala College of Nursing, was introduced by Mr. Afjal Khan, Associate Professor, while Dr. Manisha Mehrotra, Chairperson, was greeted by Mrs. Kavita Sharma, Principal of the college. The judges for the event were warmly welcomed by faculty members.
The entertainment segment opened with a captivating welcome dance by Ms. Anushka Verma from B.Sc. Nursing 3rd semester. This was followed by an exciting ramp walk competition, where students from both B.Sc. and GNM showcased their elegance and style. The panel of judges carefully evaluated participants based on their performance during the ramp walk, their participation in engaging games, and their display of skill knowledge.
In addition to the ramp walk, students impressed the audience with a series of musical and dance performances. Faculty members also participated, with Mr. Ankit Diamond delivering a solo song, followed by Mr. Tarun Joseph with another musical performance.
After all the performances, the judges revealed the much-awaited results based on their evaluations:

On September 5, 2024, Deepmala College of Nursing celebrated Teachers' Day with enthusiasm and joy. The event was organized by the students of B.Sc. Nursing and GNM students, in honor of the faculty.

The celebration commenced with a cake-cutting ceremony, where all teachers gathered to commemorate the special day. Following the cake-cutting, each teacher was assigned a fun task, bringing laughter and enjoyment to the event.

One of the highlights was a musical chair race, held between teacher's, fostering a sense of camaraderie. The students expressed their appreciation by presenting a token of love, offering gifts to the faculty members as a gesture of gratitude.

The event was a perfect blend of fun and respect, creating a memorable experience for both teachers and students. The day ended with the teachers and students enjoying each other's company, marking yet another successful celebration at Deepmala College of Nursing.

Deepmala College of Nursing successfully conducted a two-day workshop on anti-ragging from 16th to 17th August 2024. The workshop was led by Principal Kavita Sharma and organized by Associate Professors Ankit Diamond and Afjal Khan. The event aimed to raise awareness among the new B.Sc. Nursing and GNM 1st-year students about the importance of a ragging-free environment and to equip them with the knowledge and resources needed to seek help if needed.

**Day 1: 16th August 2024**

- **Introduction to Ragging:**
Principal Kavita Sharma inaugurated the workshop by addressing the participants on the definition and implications of ragging. She emphasized the need for a supportive and respectful college environment.

- **Understanding Ragging and Its Consequences:**
Associate Professor Ankit Diamond provided an in-depth explanation of what constitutes ragging. He also shared the tragic story of Aman Kachroo to illustrate the severe consequences of ragging. Additionally, he outlined the objectives of the anti-ragging laws and the responsibilities of both students and the institution.

- **How to Seek Help:**
Associate Professor Afjal Khan guided students on the various ways they can seek help if they experience or witness ragging. He highlighted the college's support systems and the importance of speaking up.

**Day 2: 17th August 2024**

- **Counseling and Competitions:**
Member Akshay Bedi continued the session by further explaining what constitutes ragging and the importance of anti-ragging measures. This was followed by Member Elva Singh, who conducted a counseling session for the students, encouraging them to participate in the essay and poster competitions. The competitions were aimed at reinforcing the anti-ragging message and allowing students to express their understanding creatively.

**Freshers' Orientation and Interaction**

Following the workshop, on 24th and 25th August 2024, a special orientation session was held for the new B.Sc. Nursing and GNM 1st-year students.
