IBPS is going to recruit 50,000 officers & Clerks in the financial year 2014-15 for 20 public sector banks. The new vacancies to be filled by banks during 2014-15 will be based on the new recruitment process, according to the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).
Another 22,000 will be hired by SBI, for itself & its associate banks.
The Regional Rural banks (RRBs) & Grameen Banks added together will hire another 30,000 candidates.
Private Banks like ICICI, which conducts its own exam will also add to the count.
All added together, there is going to be quite more than 1,00,000 (One Lakh) recruitment in the banking sector during this financial year.
A job in banking industry is a safe, sound & Lucrative one. A Probationary Officer (PO) draws a starting salary of 25,000 to 65,000, while a Clerk begins with anything between 15,000 to 30,000. The basic eligibility criteria to appear for PO is a Graduate, while that for Clerk is Intermediate.
