NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Under the aegis of G20 Summit, Research and Incubation Cell of GDC Thindim Kreeri organized
a mega event in collaboration with J & K State Science, Technology & Innovation Council
Bemina, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on 28th February 2023. The programme was conducted
in the seminar hall of the college. The programme started with the welcome address presented
by Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Wani, Coordinator of the Research and Incubation Cell. While
speaking on the occasion, the worthy Principal Prof Kounsar Jan of this college highlighted the
significance of this day and its relevance in developing scientific temper in the students. The
day witnessed series of deliberations by the Invited Guest speakers. Dr. S.M. Zuber gave a
detailed presentation on “Why Science” wherein he gave detailed insight about the
evolutionary significance of animal life. Dr. Heena Qadir gave presentation on “Understanding
society from multidisciplinary perspectives”. She highlighted the role of social workers in
disseminating the scientific knowledge to the society. Dr Rafiq Lone spoke on the topic
“Entrepreneurship in Medicinal and Aromatic Plants” wherein he elaborated the health benefits
of various medicinal herbs. He also discussed different varieties of medicinal plants available in
Kashmir valley and their potential for entrepreneurship. In the afternoon session two events
viz., poster presentations and quiz competitions were conducted for active participation of the
students in Science Day Celebrations, wherein Mehvish Hilal bagged 1st prize in poster
presentation and Einstein group headed by Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh secured first prize in quiz
competition. Programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Prof. Syed Mustafa
Shah, Head Department of Urdu.

Government degree college Thindim kreeri organized a moral lecture today on 05-08-2022 ( Friday ). The coordinator of the programme were Dr. Aijaz Ahmad ( assistant professor Department of Education) . The main aim of the lecture was to motivate the students towards moral development.
